Not for me, but the color lasts a long time and it’s at a great price.
The color lasts but it was too dark for my liking. It was near black, or felt like it for me. I use a color called mocha by kerachroma. It’s a gorgeous brown without any red. I was looking for something similar in color but at a better price point. Unfortunately i still haven’t found that but this is affordable and lasts just as long as permanent die (in my case anyways). If you like dark dark brown, I highly recommend you check out and try this brand.

Not worth it
Hardly does anything at all. Disappointing. Was hopping to use on my light brown roots inbetween permanent dyes, does not deposit much colour and certainly doesnt last past 1 wash.

Beautiful chocolate brown colour
The best rich deep brown semi permanent I've ever used. I've tried a number of hair colours and most recently had bleached out my hair and toned the length a coral/peachy blonde with bluish toned roots - this had faded out (first pic) and I was missing having low maintenance hair so wanted to go brunette again. I was a bit worried about my hair turning green since I didn't fill it with red before using the mocha color (and a swatch of it wiped off a bit green), but I think the remaining pink in my hair helped and I achieved a really beautiful, natural, rich chocolatey brown colour. It's darker than my natural medium golden brown, but I love it so much I'll likely just keep using it on the regrowth now. Bonus points for no further peroxide damage, too!

Mocha covers pink, but I suggest diluting it/ Paprika is a true auburn shade on brown hair
Review for Mocha (3/5☆) This is a tough product to rate because it has pros and cons. I got the color mocha with the intention of covering my hot pink hair. A lot of reviews say the mocha turned their hair green, which I wanted to neutralize the pink. Pros: smells good, easy to use, easy to clean, not damaging, covered pink very well (to an auburn color). Cons: the only con, but it's a big one, is that it did turn the ends of some of my hair, mostly my face framing pieces a greenish dark brown. I ended up trimming as much of it off as I could, but don't be like me and please do a strand test. For the process, I put it on completely dry hair, shower cap, heated with blow dryer for a minute, left cap on for 30 min, rinsed out. I have above shoulder length hair, natural level 2 roots, ends were lightened to a 7/8. I doused my hair and used about 60% of the bottle. Update: It faded fairly fast after only one shampoo, but I made a color depositing conditioner and left it on dry hair for 40 min. If I had done this to begin with, I might have rated it higher. The pic with straight hair is after the color depositing conditioner. Review for Paprika (5/5☆) I'm unable to make a separate review, so I labeled the paprika pics. After the mocha faded, I permanently dyed my ends ash brown, which made it a murky color! I put paprika on shampooed and fully dry hair (curly shoulder length, natural level 2 roots and dyed level 6/7 ends). I fully saturated my hair from roots to ends (60% of bottle) and covered with plastic wrap for one hour, then rinsed with cold water. It turned out a beautiful true auburn color with a copper shade in the sun. It did not stick to my undyed roots, which I preferred. I will be making a color depositing conditioner with this shade too after shampooing. Paprika does bleed a lot, as most red shades do, so wear gloves. It came off my skin easily, and I bleached my sink, and no color stuck.

Not for grey coverage, unless you like a natural look
I was looking for something non-permanent to help my hair look less scary while I’m growing out my natural medium brown/grey mix. To me, nothing looks more raggedy than my dark brown dyed hair with a solid line of lighter grey roots. I could not stand it anymore! So I was hoping this dye would help, and it did. My dark brown hair now looks refreshed, although the greys are still slightly visible. It’s definitely better than it was before, so I’m content. Just a few notes: 1) I only needed about 2tbsp of product, applied to my roots with a brush 2) I forgot to read the instructions first, so I applied it on dry hair instead of wet 3) I also capped my head with cling wrap and held a dryer on it for about 5 min 4) I left it on for about an hour. Next time I’ll apply on wet hair and maybe get an even nicer result. Overall though, I def recommend this if you happen to be in my situation, and don’t mind a more natural, blended out grey root. I also use a drugstore colour refresher conditioner weekly, in a dark brown shade, which should pair nicely with the Adore dye applied every few weeks.
