But I thought I needed to. I didn’t have high hopes for this stuff. But WARNING you only need the tiniest bit of this no salt substitute compared to how much you would use if this was salt otherwise the taste is way to overpowering and strong. But if you put the smallest amount it tastes almost identical taste salt! I have heart failure so I’m on a sodium restriction & it was really limiting what I could eat & make, not anymore thanks to this stuff. I’m so excited that I tried & found this brand :)

This is the salt substitute that you want. Most other potassium-based salt substitutes only include one type of potassium (potassium chloride), which tend to be bitter and leave a bad aftertaste, which renders it ultimately unusable. This one contains Potassium Bitartrate (cream of tartar), which tends to make a significant difference taste wise. Does it taste exactly like salt? Nope. But, it’s very tolerable on its own. What is important to know is that we do need salt to live, but our potassium-to-sodium intake ratio has flipped upside-down, so unless you absolutely have to exclude sodium, I recommend doing the following: Mix 5 parts of NoSalt to 1 part regular salt (preferably a natural salt, like Redmond’s) and put that into your shaker or salt cellar. It’ll provide just enough ‘real’ salt flavor that you’ll think that you’re using regular salt, or at least pretty close to it. Up it up to 2 parts of salt if necessary, which will still go a long way in upping your potassium intake. On a side note, Walmart used to have their own brand and version of this product, but it seems to have been discontinued. If you should ever find that, it is much cheaper, but has the exact same ingredients.

I bought this product as I had heard that it tastes exactly like salt. Unfortunately , this is not true for me. It has very strange " taste" and it remains my mouth after eating. Or to be accurate, it cause strange feeling in mouth. I can't tolerate with this feeling and will toss away the product sadly. It may work with others but not for me.

I’ve cut out salt from my diet - this stuff is awesome on food (gives it a bit of a salty zing), but it tastes like crap if you just taste it by itself (as in, put some in your hand and lick it). I dunno how something can taste so crappy on its own, but taste so good when put on food. I guess real salt on its own tastes kinda crappy too though.
