I just needed to check the error codes on my 2014 F150 and clear them. I did this once for free at AutoZone, but the codes came back and I needed to verify a repair I made. This unit was inexpensive - making it cheaper and more convenient than running back and forth to the auto parts store. The instructions are a bit lacking, but there are only a few options and buttons, so it shouldn't take too much to figure it out, My issue was that the codes are easily read on one screen, but you need to go to a different screen to clear them. Not hard, just not intuitive. If you just want the codes (and maybe clear them) so that you can investigate fixes (or just let you know if you should go straight to your mechanic), this should work fine. If you want a lot of detailed diagnostic info, you may be better served with a more sophisticated, higher dollar unit. I'm happy with this one.

The two nicest features are the Battery Tester and measuring the alternator current. I have 2003 pickup with a 5 year old battery and the original alternator. It's nice being able to monitor both for a peace of mind. The scanner has so many other features that for the price it's an amazing deal.

I was a bit under whelmed based off of the reviews. but it does do what you need it to at an EXTREME affordable price. the GUI is vary basic but in color! I don't think it has live data. BUY IT but don't think you are going to tune your F1 with it.
