Don't go by negative reviews
This unit is probably the most bang for the buck you'll find out there. I have 2 of these, one at work for an office that needed supplemental cooling and one at home. For those that say its not really 16k btu's, if you're buying a portal unit off of Amazon, I would guess, you have no idea what your talking about, nor would you know the actual formula for calculating BTU's. Its a good unit, well worth the money, and as long as you are not expecting to cool more than one average room, you'll love it. No it's not going to cool you're entire house. It's smaller than most portable AC's with the same rating, the fan is not overly loud, but moves a lot of air. The duct that comes with it is same as what come with all of them, it sucks, they all do. You need a piece of insulated duct or buy a duct blanket to wrap around the exhaust. If you do this you will be very satisfied. Longevity? Who knows? I didn't buy the extended warranty, at the cost of almost 1/3 of what I paid for the unit, didn't seem worth it to me. If you have no other options for cooling, might be a good idea to get it. the drain hose that comes with the unit, is an awesome addition, I let it drip into a 5gal bucket then use that water for my plants. Make no mistake, the bad reviews are from people that expect it to be more than what it claims to be. Its a good unit, we have several larger sized ones at work, same btu, name brand, that don't do as good as this one. It's 92 today here with high humidity, my living room and dining room, are comfortable with just this unit doing the cooling. With the compact size and the amount of cooling I get, I would give it 6 stars if i could.

Powerful Cooling – Smart Features Make It Even Better!
I’m super impressed with this 16,000 BTU portable air conditioner! It cools down my large living room quickly and efficiently, even during the peak summer heat. The 5-in-1 functionality (AC, fan, dehumidifier, smart app control, and more) really adds to its value. What really sets it apart is the WiFi smart control – being able to adjust settings from my phone or with the remote is incredibly convenient. The 24-hour timer and multiple modes make it easy to set and forget. It was fairly easy to install with the included window kit, and it rolls easily from room to room. The unit isn’t too loud either, which is a plus for sleeping or watching TV.Overall, a great investment for anyone needing serious cooling power with smart home convenience!

Surprisingly Effective AC
Ok...I normally do not leave reviews because most items are generically standard performance items. HOWEVER, I must say I was extremely surprised and impressed by the operational performance of this AC unit. First, it's 'small', about 2/3rds the size of my other portable room AC of 12,000btu. I was certain that the 16,000btu rating on this unit was a little ambitious, so I decided to prove the point by testing the unit using an AC output thermometer (as I was certain I would be sending it back). It took 5 minutes for the unit to stabilize and put out a consist 41-degree Fahrenheit airflow. My front room is 25ft x 30ft and this little unit was cooling it without effort. Also, the noise level, on high fan, was about 1/2 that of my other 12,000btu unit (low fan setting hardly makes noise...about like a small fan). Since I'm using this as a backup, I didn't unpack the remote control; however, its' layout looks simple and functional. Lastly, the window block and exhaust hose are ingeniously designed so that you do not have to cut anything or 'thread' on the hose mounts. The system is a 'snap lock' design, and everything snaps in place tightly and securely. Total set up time took about 5 minutes. Oh...and I definitely kept the unit and may buy another.

Not great but not horrible
I purchased this A/C unit the first of June and have used it through June, July and August. My plan was to use it in my living room. That hasn’t left me comfortable at times. It does blow cold air, but in a small amount. I’ll have to come up with a better solution next year, and I’ll move this one to my bedroom. It has wheels, so I can do that.Set up was simple, even though I’m not good at things like that. I find it to be fairly quiet and cheaper to run than my old window unit, although this is running on 110 instead of 220 amp.For a single room, especially a small one, this should work, although a small window unit would be cheaper. This A/C does seem well made, and shipping was as expected. It is well packaged and no damage or delay.

Works well for a single room
It's advertised as a 16000 BTU but it sure doesn't feel like it. If the outdoor temp goes up it may not want to keep after like the old 12000 BTU window unit it replaced. It does have it's benefits. The remote is nice, the built-in water self-evaporation system works great, and it is much quieter than the window unit.

Great unit for a great value
I purchased this unit based on BTUs, Reviews and price. I have been using this portable AC unit for a month now. I travel for work and use this unit 24/7 the first 3 to 4 days a week I run it in the evening and over night on 72 degrees with the fan on high and during the day when at work on about 78 with the fan on low. I love using the app on my phone as I leave work to turn it down to 72 so the place is already cool when I get home. The rest of the week when I travel, I leave it on 80 fan on low or even auto. But so far having run it 24/7 I am very impressed. I bought extra after market pieces to vent it out a sliding glass door and have not once had to drain it as it self evaporates; and this is in Florida in the summer!!! The unit has lights for different settings. I do wish that functionality could be turned off. There is a sleep setting that turns the light down but then the fan goes on low and I don't want that. Still I would highly recommend!!

Great customer service!
Excellent customer service! They are quick to respond, and to help troubleshoot. The unit is effectively cold and moderately noisy- they all make noise though. So far we haven't had to drain ours running it in western Washington summer weather. It has a small footprint (great for the months when it won't be in use) and has a helpful remote control that works and well.
