A concise and very clear instructional book. Although based on the palms of mainland USA, the techniques shown apply to most word wide palms, and any long leaved plants traditionally used in basketry. This book re-introduces almost forgotten craft skills, with excellent illustrations.

A very helpful informative how to palmetto braiding and weaving book.

I was hoping for better pictures and more information about harvesting and storing palms for basket weaving. I will add this to my library but not sure how much use it will be.

I am so excited about sharing this book with my family this Easter. It will be my first time hosting and since my cousins have grown up, an egg hunt won't be happening. I still wanted a fun group activity to do after supper and the idea of weaving came to mind. I picked up this book as well as How to Weave Hawaiian Coconut Palm Fronds to increase our chances of finding projects we like and can figure out how to do. I'll let you know if one book proves to be the best! So far, I really like the quality of the illustrations and photographs.
