Real Avid Pin Punch Set

I love the packaging, it stays propped up for easy access to the tools i need when i need them, the different hammer heads are great for various applications, the o-rings built in are nice because they help mitigate any accidental scratched when I'm hammering a pin in. all in all i am very pleased with this punch set. TBH I love all of my Real Avid tools. sure they may cost a little more than some other brands but its worth it for the quality.

This is an excellent little set for working on firearms. I’ve used it multiple times since purchasing it, and it’s made my at home gunsmithing much easier to competently perform. I recommend it to anyone who wants to work on firearms, and not destroy them in the process.Also, I’d highly recommend going to your local leather store, and purchasing a piece of rawhide for wrapping and protecting various parts you happen to be working on. Along with gun specific bench blocks, it’s worth the 8-10 bucks it’ll cost you, and you can cut it in various pieces to fit whatever you’re trying to protect from marring.

Real Avid makes some excellent products and this one is no exception. Buying it as a combo saves you some money than when buying the block separately. Block is non-marring and the addition of a magnet strip reduces the chances of losing pins. The hammer is balanced well and the handle fits nicely in the hand and the rubber grips keep it in the hand. The pins are well made and the points that make contact are smooth at the edges almost round in feeling. This helps prevent scratches on the metal if the punch slides out of place. The red rubber rings also help keep hold on them during use.I did bend the smallest punch, but that could well have been my fault for using the wrong size on a pin that was stuck and was a pain to remove. The rest have worked very well and have retained their alignment. I would buy this set again. It has performed well every time I have used it, and I have gotten a lot of use from it thus far.

Nice kit so far, shipped fast and feels solid. Even went back and flushed up some pins in a recent build. Unless there's a knockoff I'm unaware of this is definitely made not made in America. Still seems like a good kit for minor things.

Nice bench block,fits in range bag

Wanted a punch set that was dedicated to working on my firearms. While the hammer is small I find it has more than enough weight drive the typical Glock or firearm pin easily.I really like the ability to change out the hammer faces and the fact that the storage case keeps everything organized. The bench block is an added bonus and very handy, I like the magnetic ability to capture the pins.Personally I do not think I would use this set as a general punch set And is well worth the money spent and I expect this set to last for a long while when used for firearm assembly and disassembly.

Absolutely must have for a home gunsmith. All the right tools and the stability to completely rebuild or clean a pistol.
