This is one of those tools that, as we discovered, you just cannot do without! We had already tried to feed twenty metres of cold and stiff 3/4" armoured, and several CCTV cables through the underground conduit that we had laid for our workshop before this reel arrived, and failed miserably! We might have stood a better chance of pushing the cables through if it was mid-summer and the armoured cable was more flexible but being mid-November that was just wishful thinking! This OUGPIU fish tape reel made the whole process of getting the bundled cables through the conduit a whole lot easier than our previous attempts. Admittedly, this time we had pre-warmed the armoured cable by having the workshop diesel air heater blowing onto it and then straightened it out as much as we could while it was still warm, this only made the flexibility temporary and as soon as the cable cooled off, the stiffness was back. We made one little modification to the reel before feeding it into the conduit and this was simply blue-tacking a small plastic ball from one of the drill press levers onto the end of the cable, this just made sure that the cable end didn't get snagged in the concertina's of the conduit and fold back on itself. This little modification worked really well and the reel cable fed through the entire length of conduit easily so this may be worth doing yourself if you're working with anything other than smooth bore conduit. I can imagine that anyone in the cable laying trade would find this puller reel invaluable. For us, it made what was PITA job so much easier and we even had the foresight this time to pull a nylon cord through with the cables in case we ever need to feed additional cables through at a later date This is a tool that has the ability to soon pay you back its purchase cost with repeated, fast and reliable cable installations, the build quality is excellent and the reel should have a long service life if used correctly. Five stars and a big thumbs up for this reel, I'm not sure that we would have managed without it!
