Q: Can this drain cleaner be used in toilets?

Label clearly states not for use in garbage disposals, dishwashers, nor toilets. However, they returned my call and said it can be used in He washers!

Q: Why not in garbage disposal

Not 100% sure bit I saw it advertised with a demo on tv and it works so strong pushing the clog it might mess up the disposal is my guess.

Q: Can it harm older pipes? What are the ingredients for it is says less caustic?

I honestly wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't done it myself, but this really did do a great job on both my garage (cement) sink and indoor bath tub. After living here for a couple of years, both drains started to drain slower and slower. I saw this on HSN and ordered it. I did the sink in the garage first and one treatment with Amos' drain cleaner did the trick. I'm still amazed. It took me a little longer to finally do the bathtub. It now drains just fine and you can see and hear the difference, too. My house was built in 1965 and I have no idea what condition the pipes are in or what they're made of. I followed the directions exactly and it worked for me. There NO smell and I wasn't afraid of doing it myself. You just measure some product and add water and let it do its thing. I let it sit over night before flushing with water. So far, both drains are still working very well but I did buy those little sink guards to keep the lint and hair from going down the drain. I just recently bought a second bottle so I have one for each drain...just in case. Hope this helped a little. Happy New Year!
