This makes spooling reels so much quicker and linear - especially when doing it yourself. I highly recommend - just make sure you place it in the same position as the "line memory" around the spool it comes on when transferring to the reel. Time saved on one 4000 reel was worth the price, and I did 3 the first night.

I love it! I have spooled many spinning and bait cast reels without any issues. The line lays flat with either fluorocarbon or braid, without any twists. When adjusted properly the tension keeps the line laying perfectly on the reel. I don't understand all the negative comments saying it's junk, not to buy it, it's useless, etc. Yes it's a fine line to get the tension just right, but the feed spool will spin when filling a spinning reel, but it shouldn't spin when filling a bait cast reel. I highly recommend this even if you only have a few reels to spool once it twice a year.

OK, i have to admit I was skeptical....but after spooling more than a couple of bait casters and spin cast reels...I'm a true-believer and now wonder why i waited so long to get something like this. It works...plain and simple. Makes spooling a breeze and saves you from trying to do the clockwise/counter-clockwise kabuki dance between reel and line spool, or the even more ridiculous boiling water gimmick - yes, it helps, but what an obnoxious pain in the rear. Just get this for the price...it's cheap...and you'll be glad you did.

Day 1. First I had to un-line my two spinning reals. Line coming off the line was twisted a knotted as it came off. It was originally lined with the spool on the ground pulling thru the rod to the reel. It was a nest of twists just waiting to happen. It was a little tricking at first setting up my first reel, but in a few minutes I was loading my line. The spool was spinning while I was loading and my wife was laughing as it looks like a strange device with the reel and spool spinning around. It just took me 15 minutes to do two spools, half the time it use to take. I did have to give the spool a bump to start the spin but then it worked well. The real test is when I used these for fishing in a week or so. I will try to remember to update this comment. // I have filled 4 reels and been fishing 4 times. I did not have a single line twist issue with any Reels except the reel that I did not fill with this tool. This thing looks crazy and it can be a little tricky getting the spool of line setup on the tool, but then it just goes on quick and easy . It still looks crazy with all the spinning spool while the turning of the reel cranking, but it works. Even works with a wide spool of line 300ft I think.

Cannot set the middle screw tight enough to provide enough to wind the line tight on the spool. Rotor only spins part of the time! It winds the line but too loose and only provides rotation part of the time.
