How do I keep the mouth piece shut. It doesn't seem to lock in place, so if I was to fill it up and knock it over it would just spill?!

If you have our newer style insulated shaker, then it won't have a silicone mouth piece and is a push-lock system instead. You may have to apply quite a bit of pressure to begin with until you hear it click - this should loosen over time.

What is the point of the spring?
