We have become addicted to nugget ice in our house - we call it crispy ice. This machine does a surprisingly good job of making good soft nugget ice. It's not too noisy, and makes enough ice fairly quickly to keep us well supplied. We actually installed a built-in nugget ice machine in our house after using the countertop machine, and moved the countertop to our vacation home so we wouldn't be without the ice we have come to love.

At first this worked amazing and the ice was perfect. Only two months later, though, it makes loud grinding noises, leaks water all over the counter, and overheats. It was great when it worked. :( Don’t buy. Not a good value. Not made to last.

If you love nugget ice (Sonic ice), this is a great ice maker! Admittedly, it has an intermittent squeal, but it's not very noticeable to me, and it sure doesn't stop this workhorse of an ice maker to slow down! I freeze the nuggets in freezer bags because it makes more than we can go through in a day. This Koviet Ice Maker gives big bang for the buck! If it ever quits, I will buy another one!

I love love love this ice! I tried to stop chewing ice but couldn't break the habit so I think of this purchase avoiding expensive dental work :) We run this a couple days a week to stock up. I keep our feezer ice bin full and then store the excess in gallon baggies to refill as needed. Since the ice is wet when you dump it out of the basket, we put it in a baggie and leave in the freezer until good and "dry" then break it up to dump in our bin. Yes, we would buy again!

Used only RO water in it and cleaned it regularly, yet after 6 months it started making a groaning noise. I wrote it off and got a GE Opal. The GE manual requires a monthly cleaning with a full concentration of vinegar left in the ice extrusion chamber overnight…light bulb moment here. I filled the Koviet with vinegar, ran a clean cycle, then let it sit without draining for 2 days. When I flushed out the vinegar and refilled it with water, it worked perfectly again. I assume you need to do this before the ice extruder starts eating its own liner though (grinding noise).

Do not buy this ! I have cleaned this every Sunday , made sure it was always clean. I have had this for 5 months and the thing will not work ! I called the company and they said the filter must be clogged. They told me because I bought it thur Amazon they could not help me , I will need to contact Amazon. This product gets no stars 😡 but it made me pick one .

I'm so happy I purchased this ice machine. My household loves it. Its easy to set up, not too heavy, functions properly and very worth the price. Can fit on your kitchen counter with ease. The ice is of a very good quality and doesn't melt as soon as you fill your cup. Oh! Did I mention its easy to clean as well?!

This is a nice machine but it takes HOURS to start making the ice. The ice melts in the bottom and regenerates to make more ice. I guess if you had it going 24/7 you'd always have plenty of ice. Ice is that chewy squeaky kind, which is a benefit. I don't use it now, though and wish I could send it back, but it is past the return window.
