Terrible
Paid for a new Pimax crystal light and received a used faulty one, the plastic lense covers were just stuck onto a bubble wrap bag and what I thought were scratches on the left lenses were grease smear marks ( see photo's) the controllers were dead on arrival but I understand they might have needed charging but after an hour only the right controller would charge and the left one was faulty. I did start the headset just to see what all the fuss was about regarding pimax headsets and the headset is so uncomfortable and bulky, the cable is so heavy it pulls you head to the left and puts pressure on your neck , the spherical lenses make you feel dizzy and I really do not like them and compared to the Quest 3 they simply are not as good.... period!!! And for more than twice the price!! The screen door IS visible and with the lenses not being that good it actually degrades the image. I did understand before I bought the Pimax that there has been some Quality control issues and was like a lottery if you was sent a new working headset and that's why I bought from Amazon as back up but I still ended up with a second hand headset and for all that money!!!!! Disgusting service and I cannot recommend that you use Pimax for your next Vr headset.

Fantastic for PCVR, I'm glad I chose the PIMAX Crystal Light over the Quest 3.
I already have 700hrs in Elite Dangerous but playing in VR with this headset was like a massive update to the game and a true WOW experience! There are no compression artifacts to break emersion - when you look into the black of space you don't see blotches or pixelation. However, even with local dimming maxed the HUD and ship do have some glow around them in space -- only a significantly more expensive OLED display can eliminate that. The glow is not distracting for me and I dismiss it as a slight condensation/dirt effect on a car windscreen in real-life. The audio quality is ok for gaming but it is a bit quiet even at maximum. I plugged in some cheap wired ear-buds for a big improvement and even more emersion. The built in microphone seems to work well with Voice Attack. The optical quality is very good indeed, the FOV seem big and the sweet spot is also quite big. There is some blurring right at the very edge of the display but its not a real issue (I'm playing a game not looking at pictures!). Even though the sweet spot is big wearing glasses means it can be tricky to setup the ideal position each time without chromatic aberration. I can wear vari-focal glasses comfortably with this headset but I've now switched to clip-in lens from VR Optician. Switching to clip-in lens greatly improved my comfort, image contrast and clarity over the whole screen and there is no fiddling needed to get the best visuals. The lens prescription needs to be for a 1m focus. With my face shape I needed the thicker foam face plate. This is my first VR headset so I didn't know what to expect. When I wear glasses in real life everything I look at is framed by my glasses (everything outside the frame is blurred of course) . With this setup I have the same wide FOV except things outside the frame are black. Its a bit like wearing a scuba facemask with a large rounded-rectangular window. Its not like using binoculars. Its very comfortable to wear but I did add a top strap for improved support. If you can run the headset at full-resolution it gives fantastic visuals. I use the PIMAX Crystal Light with an AMD 5800X3D and Radeon 7900xt. In ED, tweaking visuals with FSR and a mix of ultra, high and medium quality settings I get a steady 50+fps in stations and a steady 70+ in space. Alternatively I can drop resolution in Steam VR to 68% and max everything to ultra. But for me the best experience is with full resolution.

JUNK avoid
JUNK. 1. My headset is defective and will randomly show a pink staticy screen for a second and then show a blank screen (or extremely dim, I can see like shadows..) until the Pimax Play software is restarted - turning the headset on/off again doesn't fix it. 2. The tracking is appalling and just judders all over the place, lags.. It'll be fine for a minute or two then go completely unplayable. This seems to be caused by the Pimax Play software which uses up all of my CPU - a 5700x3D. Not the best around but it's still pretty good. I did some research to try and fix this and apparently it's a known issue, the Pimax tracking algorithm is bad. It needs more than a 5700x3D while Meta have been fine on a lil mobile phone chip since the Quest 1. It's really sad as the image quality is fantastic in this thing. It's very, very clear and sharp while approaching the colours and contrast of an OLED screen. It's a pretty big headset but I find it not too bad comfort wise. I could deal with having a faulty headset but the whole tracking situation renders this as junk.

Pimax Crystal Light
Had this just over a day and wow very impressed with it.I own the hp reverb g2 and this is miles better.I saw a few reviews about lens issues etc but mine seem to be ok love the clarity of the image. Not tested it yet on my simracing yet but can't wait to try it on it.It more comfortable than I was led to believe by some reviews but not had it on for more than an hour. But no issues for me upto now very happy.

Pimax Crystal Light: Total Rip off and Massive Disappointment
So, I got the Pimax Crystal Light, paid my £654.99 on Amazon, and whit 15% discount, thinking I was all good. Turns out, Pimax pulls a fast one: buried in the specs, it says you need pay extra after 14 days of purchase for some Membership garbage. It's not optional, it's just a hidden fee. What an absolute scam they hide a chunk of the price after you've already bought it! Beyond that shifty pricing, the headset itself is shocking. Feels like cheap plastic. The trigger on the controller was squeaking right out of the box, for crying out loud. The cable's a huge, stiff beast, and the headset? Bulky and the most uncomfortable VR I've ever owned. Seriously, my old Pico 4, which is three times cheaper, has better build quality and is way comfier. The visuals weren't even a big step up. Totally hyped myself up for this, but after an hour, it's going back. What a paperweight. Just save your money and get a Meta Quest 3 instead. This Pimax is a joke.

Hidden charges
If you can wait then order direct from pimax as they are a few hundred ££ cheaper. I've been lucky the headset is working well. They have their issues with QC so it can be a lottery.

AMAZON....MALE ...MALISSIMO.

I use VR primarily for DCS, IL Strumovick, MSFS and some car games like Dirt Rally, etc. Before buying the PIMAX Crystal Light(PCL) i had the OCULUS Rift (2yrs) and then the HP G2 Reverb (3yrs). Both of these units where comfortable, and both fitted well enough that there were no light leaks and they were comfortable. The Reverb took some time to get configured well, and once sorted out it was reliable. Conversely, the PCL is uncomfortable, it has light leaks, the soft foam face plate it too soft so the actual plastic behind the foam presses on your forehead, its quite uncomfortable. There are soft rubber flaps around the crown of the nose area to stoplight leaks but they are too long and for me they rub on the bottom of my eyelids causing irritation. Also when putting the headset on the flaps can be upturned and are really uncomfortable. Obviously all of the above problems can be associate to different head shape, so these may not be an issue for you. Also, I could live with those issues as obviously its hard to make a VR fit all heads (even though for me the previous 2 headset fitted well) but the next issues shouldnt happen on released commercial products. The room boundary once set up continuously moves, sometimes it s up in the sky and almost in another room, other times it moves straight up above you. Once it does that you need to stop the game, which is hard to do, go back to the PIMAX client and reset the room. My room is well lit and its not cluttered. The next annoying thing is that when in DCS, if I look over my shoulder to see if there's a bogie behind me the headset looses track and next thing I know I'm sitting about 5 meters below the FA/18. It happens a lot. Luckily I have a view reset button on the stick. If you watch the official PIMAX setup videos, they talk about these issues and say "we are working on these issues". PIMAX, if you haven't got these headsets sorted out then don't release them, we aren't BETA testers (unless you want to give them to us for free). I'm so disappointed, I had high hopes. BTW, I have watched many videos on setting up the PCL for DCS, there are about 3popular ones (pretty much the same content in each), however the tracking issues still remain. On a good note, the image quality is markedly better than the Reverb.
