Game changer for my house! Good for environment!
I’ve been using this 4L electric composter for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly impressed. It’s super easy to use, fits perfectly on my countertop, and looks very clean and modern. I love that it’s completely odorless—even with food scraps inside, there’s no smell at all. The low noise level was a big surprise. I can run it during the day or even at night without it being annoying. It simple and effective! What I like most is how fast it turns food waste into dry compost that I can actually reuse as fertilizer. It makes me feel good knowing I’m reducing waste and doing something better for the environment without any extra effort. If you cook at home often and want a clean, smart, and convenient way to compost indoors, this machine is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend! Im loving!

Great composter - small but mighty! 🌱🪴🌳
I have been using a composter for 4 years and unfortunately I had to purchase a replacement. I am very impressed with the Ouaken 4L composter. I held off on reviewing to make I tested the machine first. What I experienced: 1.It is compact - much smaller than my previous one but larger container. 2. easy to access with the top that is removable ( also easy to keep clean since the top can be washed). 3. Very little smell for a short bit then no smell while in operation - it’s so nice to not have a kitchen that smells while composting. I was skeptical but really no smell! 4. The 2 options to break down the food waste is great! I can decide when I need the really nutritious composte for plants and most of the time can use the crush mode since it’s a very eco/low energy mode. 5. Because the surface is smooth it is so easy to clean the outer body and I can easily wash the inner pail or use the clean option. 6. It works on my small kitchen! I recommend this composter - it reduces the impact on our environment and creates awesome plant compost!👍😁🌱🪴

A great and good looking composter at a good price.
We LOVE this counter top composter! Quiet, efficient, easy to clean and effective. Outdoor composting is not poo at our vacation home and the town doesn’t offer green waste pickup, and I don’t like to put food waste into the trash. This is perfect! A full bucket becomes a small amount of mulch or compost. We mostly use the crush mode to save on energy use and it’s perfect. Also, it’s not too big and looks fine on the counter. Thank you Ouaken!

Works great, but NOT a composter. Output cannot be used directly in plants or garden.
Very happy with this "composter". However, this is not really a composter. This is a dryer/shredder. There are no blades, only crushing arms. This DOES NOT create ready to use compost. If you try to put this in your garden it will attract animals and will not fertilize until completely broken down, but it may not ever get there, as the critters will likely have eaten or dug it all up already. (I tried this, mixed with store bought compost and had that result). The output needs to be further true composted to use. I will be using a barrel type composter to finish the job. Given all of that, it is super nice to put all my kitchen compost and have it dried and broken down. I am a one person household who does cook fresh food most nights and it fills up in about 4 - 5 days. It does not smell bad, although it will have a "cooking food" type unoffensive smell while running. It is very quiet. I have this in my small open cabin and can run it at night with no problem. Two things, it will not handle very stringy things like artichoke leaves, just creates a knotted up mess, and will not break down seeds like squash, they just slip through the arms.

Fantastic way to reduce kitchen waste and help the environment
OMG I LOVE THIS THING! I am a fanatic composter, and I am not allowed to compost here. And there is no municipal kitchen waste pick up. This machine fits easily on my table and within 12-18 hours converts all manner of biodegradable stuff into this lovely perfectly barely moist, crumbly substance. No smell whatsoever. I have only used the "ferment" option, and I don't even have my garden beds ready to receive compost. I'm just thrilled that I'm not throwing kitchen scraps away! Nothing is getting stinky in the trash before I can empty it. I suppose the $1000 versions of these inside composters are "better" in the output maybe? I dunno. My main goal is achieved--reduce waste. I don't know how accessible the nutrients will be...I have been putting the finished product in a 5 gallon bucket, awaiting the raised beds. It makes weird noises--like there's a ghost in the house-- but it's not loud. People who are some kind of weird purists are saying "It's not compost"--- idk what definition they are using, but it is compost. There is still "nutritional" value in the result; my red worms are thriving in it. (I moved the compost to a 35 gal garbage "can" until my beds are ready. The beds are going to be a modified hugelkultur-- large branches on the bottom, smaller branches, wood chips, chicken and goat manure filling in the spaces, then a layer of this compost and finally a planting mix of sifted soil w/ aged manure and compost for the top 10". And worms) You do have to be somewhat careful about what you add-- I have to add quite a bit of dry material like torn up paper towel and toilet paper rolls, used paper towels, etc, depending on how much moist kitchen waste went in. Fibrousy things have to be cut in small pieces-- like flower stems, celery, etc. Also, empty the bucket right away before the compost dries inside--I've had to chip away at organic material stuck under the arm. UPDATE: I've loved this composter for 8 months and the last time i emptied it, the blades fell off, including the gear mechanism. Looks maybe like the anchoring screw broke right off? Haven't heard a peep back from the company. I am changing my review to ONE STAR down from FIVE STARS because wtf? $300 and it doesn't last a year? I'm frankly grieving because I need to compost!!! And customer service is really paramount imo to get a good review. Don't sell stuff if you can't stand behind it. SECOND UPDATE!!! Changing my review to FIVE STARS again because I heard back from customer service after a few days, and since the product was still under warranty, they sent me another inner bucket! It just arrived last night and works perfectly. It came from China, so it took a while, but I was able to track the shipment. So THANK YOU for the customer service which totally came through!! I just hope this one doesn't fall apart in another 8 months?

Love this composter - HIGHLY RECOMMEND
This composter is small, quiet and easy to use. We have not noticed any smells or pests associated with it. It's amazing the amount of food scraps that fit into it and the tiny amount of compost that is produced. So glad that we purchased this amazing, quality composter. Looks great sitting on the kitchen counter. And best of all, there's no need to have any additional supplies required to be added to make it work.

I have wanted an electric composter for a long time, so I did research, read customer reviews and consumer reports before settling on the Ouaken electric composter. While there are a lot of options and brands available, I chose this one because of the many positive reviews, consumer reports, good price and features other brands do not have. The 4 litre bucket size is the largest I could find within a reasonable price range. I can fit a ton of kitchen scraps into it and only have to run the composter once to clean them all up. This model also has a self cleaning feature that I did not see in any other brand. The glass top allows you to view the composting process as it happens. It's amazing how quickly a full bucket of food scraps turns into a small amount of grounds at the bottom of the bucket. The composter is easy to set up and the instruction manual informative. I would have appreciated more information on what items can and cannot be used in the composter. They do not have a website with this information, but you can email their customer service if you have a question about a specific item. They respond quickly and are helpful. I have used the composter several times on various types of food scraps and each time it took between 3 and 4 hours to process a full bucket. The compost is consistently dry, clean and finely ground. There is no offensive smell. The composter turns off automatically when the process is completed. It's best to let it cool down before opening the lid, as it gets quite hot. You also want to sit your composter where it has open space all around it, for safety, given how hot it gets. I followed the recommendation to add browns to my greens for a well balanced compost. I have been using finely shredded paper from my paper shredder and it works perfectly. I've also added used paper towels and napkins, which also worked well. The machine is extremely quiet, even at night when there is no other noise. I saw in the customer reviews that some people complained about the lid not fitting. I do not see how it can be an issue, as you just need to line up the arrow and turn the lid to open and close it. The lid fits securely and is easy to operate. I had also read some people experienced the composter jamming. If you do not put unreasonably large chunks of food in the composter, it will not jam. I have not experienced any jamming, even with a full bucket. I have avoided putting in large items like apple cores or corn cobs. I do not eat meat, so I did not try to process bones. The composter has a warranty, so don't forget to follow the instructions in the manual and register your warranty by emailing the company your Amazon order number. I do not have any concerns or complaints about the composter. It has exceeded my expectations. The only quirk I have found is that when you open the lid, the power comes on automatically. This is helpful if you are going to use the machine at the time, but if you are just putting some scraps in there for later, you have to manually turn the machine off. Not a big deal, just a quirk I noticed. Overall, I highly recommend the Ouaken electric composter with the 4 litre bucket. I wish I had gotten this sooner, when I was canning food from my garden.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this little machine genuinely deserves one. The Ouaken electric composter has completely changed how I deal with kitchen waste. It’s tidy, fast, and surprisingly quiet - I honestly can’t imagine going back to a regular food caddy now (which I also bought from Amazon). It reduces waste dramatically and turns it into dry, odour-free compost in just a few hours. I was sceptical at first, but it actually works exactly as described. Even onion peels and leftovers are gone by the next morning. The smell control is excellent – no weird odours at all (carbon filter system clearly does its job) Build quality is solid and it looks quite smart on the counter, not like some bulky bit of equipment you want to hide away. Our kitchen is relatively small/moderate size so it was quite important that it's not bulky. The bucket lifts out easily and can go straight in the dishwasher, which makes it very handy. I also like that it tells you when the filter needs changing. It’s quiet enough to run at night (you can barely hear it), and it doesn’t give off any heat or steam. I’ve noticed my kitchen bin hardly needs emptying anymore, which feels great from both a convenience and environmental point of view. To conclude, it does exactly what it promises, and does it brilliantly. Super easy to use, very clean, no smell, no fuss. If you cook regularly and care about reducing waste, this is a fantastic buy. Highly recommend it.

The Ouaken Electric Composter has completely changed how I deal with food waste. It’s compact and sleek, fitting perfectly on my countertop without taking up much space. Despite its small size, the 4L capacity is ideal for daily use and handles scraps from an entire day easily. What really stands out is how quiet and completely odorless it is. Even after using it today, there’s absolutely no smell — which is amazing. It runs so quietly that I can leave it on overnight and forget it’s even working. The 3-hour composting cycle is impressive. It quickly turns kitchen waste into dry, nutrient-rich fertilizer that I now use for my indoor and outdoor plants. The auto-cleaning feature is another huge plus — it keeps the inside fresh with minimal effort on my part. Using it is super easy — the buttons are clear, and the design feels premium. I also love knowing I’m reducing waste and helping the environment at the same time.

I used the machine the first couple of times on crush mode with the recycling bags containing dry waste, mainly coffee filters and tea bags along with dried peelings stored in the recycling bag in the bin. The third time I used it I just put the recycling bag in it with mostly wet recyclables, it seemed to work smoothy, although there was a bit of clunking sound as it chopped up the corn cob chunks. I was surprised at how quiet the machine was overall. It chopped up the paper, string (from the tea bags) and the recycle bags adequately.
