Reliable heart rate monitor with accurate data and strong connectivity
The Garmin HRM Pro Plus has delivered very consistent and accurate heart rate tracking during every workout I tested it with. Connection to my Garmin watch is immediate and does not drop, even during long training sessions. The improvement in training metrics is noticeable, especially for pace, power and aerobic and anaerobic load. The strap is comfortable and stays in place without needing to be tightened too much. I have used it for running, strength work and indoor cycling and it remains stable and reliable. It also performs well in wet conditions and the waterproof rating gives extra confidence for outdoor use. Battery life has been strong and the build quality feels durable. For anyone who wants precise data and a dependable chest strap, this is a very solid choice.

Great heart rate monitor
First off, the accuracy of this heart rate monitor is incredible. It precisely tracks my heart rate, giving me real-time insights during workouts. Whether I'm running, cycling, or hitting the gym, the data is always spot-on. The comfort level is top-notch. The strap is soft and adjustable, making it easy to wear for extended periods without discomfort. I barely notice it's there, even during intense sessions. One of the most remarkable features is the advanced metrics it provides. From VO2 max to running dynamics, the Garmin HRM Pro Plus gives me a deep dive into my performance. It's like having a personal coach with me at all times! The connectivity is seamless. It pairs effortlessly with my Garmin watch and other fitness apps, ensuring all my data is synced and accessible in one place. No more manual entries or missed workouts – it's all automatic.

Huge Fan of HRM Pro Plus!
As a former user of the HRM tri, I was disappointed when the screws rusted out and the HRM broke. Saw the price tag on this HRM and was reluctant, but it has held up for a year and a half. I use this every day for both workouts and runs. The heart rate it produces is easy to download if you are not wearing the watch for your activity. For working out and lifting weights, this HRM keeps the recording accurate when your wrist is moving for dumbbell or kettlebell movements which usually throw off the wrist sensor. The heart rate data is accurate, and the device always connects without me having to do anything. It turns on when you put it on. I recommend rinsing it off in the shower And hanging up to dry after use

Great product for cycling
The HRM Pro Plus delivers excellent accuracy in heart rate tracking, even during intense workouts. The strap is comfortable and lightweight, staying securely in place throughout the activity. Its best feature is the ability to store data when not wearing a watch (like while swimming) and sync it later. Connection with Garmin devices and third-party apps is fast and stable. Perfect for athletes who need reliable performance metrics and running dynamics.

Game-Changer for Accurate Heart Rate Tracking
This heart rate monitor is absolutely incredible. I have full sleeve tattoos, which makes my wrist-based heart rate readings from a smartwatch extremely inaccurate — especially during runs. I prefer heart rate zone training over pace-based training, and the inconsistency and lag from my watch were driving me crazy. This chest strap solved everything. It delivers instant and reliable heart rate data with zero dropouts. The strap is comfortable to wear, stays in place during intense workouts, and the battery life is excellent — it just keeps going. I was also pleasantly surprised by the price. For the quality and performance, it’s a bargain. One important note: you need to connect the HRM to your watch directly through your watch’s settings — not just through the Garmin Connect app — to get it working properly. No downsides from my experience. If you train seriously or just want reliable data, this is a must-have upgrade.

Pros and cons after 2 years of experience
This is a review of my previous purchase of this item. It has changed very little since then, but I can provide 2 years of experience with it. It’s a very good HRM. Easy to connect, stays connected, picks up HR reliably. Very good battery life. I use it nearly every day, and it makes it almost a year before I need to replace the batteries. I suppose the delayed download functionality is useful for some people, but I’ve only used it a couple of times. Problems: (1) it’s too short for my chest size, and my suit jacket size is about a 46. You can get an extender from Garmin, but it’s expensive for a small piece of fabric and hard to find. A couple more inches of length would be great. (2) it started to come apart at one of the joins between the electrodes and the elastic fabric after about 18 months. I used fabric glue on it, but I think it will still come apart very soon, and the strap can’t be replaced on this model. (3) price is high for a HRM strap. It has more functionality than most, but that may not be important enough to justify the price. I guess I liked it enough to buy a replacement, but if you’re on a tight budget you can be more cost-effective with a different HRM, I think.

It's comfortable and easy to use
I've used this once, so far, for a 4 mile run/walk on the treadmill. It connected to my Garmin 935 watch immediately, and it gave me no trouble while on the treadmill. My only gripe was shipping took way too long, and I'm still not sure what happened. The HR chest strap was shipped USPS and it got stuck in several states for days. In fact, it sat in my city for a full week before it got delivered. This has absolutely nothing to do with the functionality of this HR strap, but the waiting game and uncertainty around when (or if) it would even arrive drove me nuts. I considered canceling the order and requesting a refund, but opted to wait it out. Anyway, I'm happy to have it now, and I'm excited to use it when hiking and running. I've been a Garmin fan for 13 years. Their gear never disappoints.

Integration with the watch is really poor. The watch doesn't seem to handle well not having the strap on, leading to long and interrupted syncing on those occasions or activities. When you are wearing it, the recording occasionally fails for no apparent reason with no way of diagnosing what went wrong. Very frustrating. Wake up Garmin, you have lost your way. Think about Psion, Palm, blackberry, Nokia. Feels like Garmin have the same existential problem....

Behold, the Garmin HRM-Pro Plus – the love child of a heart rate monitor and a fitness guru! This isn't just a strap; it's the VIP pass to the exclusive party of my heartbeats. It's like having a personal fitness cheerleader, transmitting real-time data to my Garmin 935 faster than I can say 'I need more steps.' But wait, there's more! It's not just about heartbeats; it's a running dynamics maestro, capturing my every stride like a fitness paparazzo. It knows more about my running form than I do – vertical oscillation, ground contact time, stride length – it's practically my running therapist. And guess what? It even computes pace and distance for my treadmill endeavors. Move over, math; Garmin's got this! Swimming? No problem. This strap is like the Aquaman of heart rate monitors, storing data underwater and sending it to my watch once I'm back on dry land. It's so aquatic, I'm half expecting it to join synchronized swimming competitions. And don't get me started on the battery life – up to a year! It outlasts my resolutions to eat more kale. The tool-free quarter-turn battery door is like the Batman utility belt of durability – easy to use and ready for any fitness adventure. In conclusion, the Garmin HRM-Pro Plus is not just a heart rate monitor; it's a fitness sidekick, a data superhero, and a workout bestie. Move over, ordinary HRMs; Garmin's here to turn my heartbeats into a fitness symphony!
