Decaffeinato

Got a bunch of these for my husband’s Breville Bambino to reduce the mess of grinding espresso powder. They fit perfectly and taste amazing!! I have used this brand for years and they never disappoint! If you haven’t tried using these before, I highly recommend trying them out. They are fresh, strong as hell and produce a good espresso shot!

I have been ordering these for years. It’s the only pod that works in my Francis Francis espresso machine. Both the caffeinated and decaffeinated make a delicious cappuccino or latte.

Before I get started, I want to warn people to READ THE PAGE CAREFULLY. These are ESE pods. They won't work in your Keurig or Nespresso, and you can't simply put them in your espresso machine and expect to get good results. You'll need an espresso machine that has an actual ESE pod insert for the portafilter. Otherwise, you won't get the results you're looking for. If you have this, I think you'll find these are a very good way to make espressos with virtually no fuss, and none of the eco-problems inherent with capsules. You can put these in your compost. While I do mainly use my espresso maker to make drinks the old way (i.e., ground coffee in the naked portafilter) I do sometimes just want an espresso quickly without the grinding and clean-up. These do the trick. If I have a complaint, it's that you can't always tell how fresh the pods are. This hasn't been an issue for me, but I can see where it might be.

I bought these for an easier, less messy option on rushed mornings, but the espresso from these is extremely weak and sour. I don't understand how they expect it to come out any different when there's all this space around the edges. With espresso shots, water chooses the path of least resistance, and in this case, that means going around the coffee rather than through it. Poor quality, poor flavor, and overpriced; I wish I could get a refund. Just stick to using your own grounds.

I have my standard cup of espresso from ground beans in the morning, and I had purchased the ESE pods for when I want a quick espresso. I can’t tolerate caffeine in the afternoon but have been unable to find decaf espresso at my local grocery. Since I don’t have it often, I thought these decaf pods would be the answer. I’m pleased. Makes a lovely dark cup of espresso with crema, and tastes remarkably good for decaf.

Illy is the best tasting decaf coffee available, and it comes in multiple form-factors: ESE Pods, Nespresso capsules, Beans, Ground, etc. Delicious, tan Rico!

I love this brand, and as I’m very sensitive to caffeine, I choose the decaf version of it. The flavor is really delicate and doesn’t require sugar or maybe just 1/2 teaspoon, as the aroma is not excessively intense. It’s a little pricey but I’m still purchasing it because Indulging on coffee is for me a must. Usually I add some milk and I make myself a macchiato or a cappuccino. Heavy whip also does the job, but that depends on your diet. Happy to give it 5 stars!

Wichtig: bei dem Produkt handelt es sich um ESE-Pads, die nicht für die Senseo-Maschine geeignet sind! Die gelieferten Pads haben eine gute Qualität. Der Espresso aus meiner La Piccola schmeckt. Ich war auf der Suche nach einem guten entkoffeinierten Espresso und bin bei illy fündig geworden. Für meinen Geschmack haben sie eine etwas zu hohe Säure im Geschmack, weshalb ich nur vier Sterne gebe. Durch Erhöhung des Anpressdrucks lässt sich das jedoch etwas auffangen. An dieser Stelle möchte ich jedoch sagen, dass ich beim Thema Säure auch sehr empfindlich bin! Was mir noch gut gefällt: illy beschriftet die obere Seite des Pads mit dem Logo, so dass man noch leichter erkennt, wie das Pad richtig eingelegt wird. Insgesamt sind die illy-Pads sicherlich nicht meine #1, aber ich werde sie zwischendurch auf jeden Fall nochmal bestellen!

This was my first time using pods as opposed to ground coffee & I love the taste….and convenience of them! The pods are in Individually sealed little sachets to keep the flavour fresh. I only drink decaffeinated & I find they taste lovely in a latte with frothed milk. I will definitely be buying more.
