There are times, Like now for instance, when you want to do the right thing and write a review on an item you bought so others can benefit (perhaps) from it. But, some items just feel a bit weird writing about them. Maybe I should get really excited about my new Umar Grand 10 Gallon Swing Top Trash Can, but folks, it IS just a trash can. I guess I am getting older and things that might have been important to me years ago are not any longer. Here is what I will say. This is exactly what I wanted for the extra room I use now and then in the winter when it is too icy to risk life and limb(s) climbing 3 flights of really horrible outside stairs with my (adopted, retired) greyhound. (Had to sneak that in there - great dogs to adopt!) It was harder than I thought to find something that wasn't KITCHEN size. I didn't want anything that big. This is a perfect size for pee pads, which I roll up as small as possible and put into the recyclable bags, and then into another larger liner recyclable bag. The best thing about this 10 gallon trash can is the cover, as it swings leaving one hand free to toss the bags in and of course the size. If you have to carry your trash down 3 icy flights of stairs and then out to the curb, you don't want something that weighs 50 lbs. It is easy to get to that weight using a larger trash can. ("Liquid is HEAVY") Also, no matter who many times you wrap the used paper or pads, you still can get an odor if you use a large container. So, hmm...I guess I am excited to have this 10 gallon (Plastic- another plus, easy to wash out) trash can. It's styled simply, fits anywhere easily and doesn't tip over. I like it - more than I thought! ANYTHING that makes life easier is a good thing.

I am always looking for the perfect garbage bin and have spent a lot of money on expensive but inferior cans (looking at you, SH). I tried this one because the round shape fits my odd kitchen space without being obtrusive. It holds a standard kitchen-size bag with room to spare and holds quite a lot with no bag slippage. It's sturdy but not difficult to move for cleaning, even if full. I've had no issues with the lid popping off or getting in the way. It was not offered through Prime but the seller I purchased from shipped promptly and it arrived in tact in good condition.

This highly durable, inexpensive can is perfect for your bathroom, kitchen, garage, patio or wherever you need it. It is lightweight, yet durable. I have placed it in the kids bathroom (two teens and a pre-teen). The teens clean their bathroom once a week and the small wastebasket was always filled to the brim which was an ugly sight so I really like the fact that it is big enough to hold a weeks worth of trash. The round swinging dome door works well and hides the trash from eyesight which is important to the young teen girls in the house. This can is easy to clean and a 13 gal trash bag is a good fit. I would definitely recommend this can for its functionality, durability, size and cost.

I need lids on all my wastebaskets so the dogs don't poke in garbage. It's a better viual, also. These 2 were an inexpensive solution for my unfinished basement. I actually like these swivel tops because I don't need to lift a lid with another hand or foot, like my expensive stainless cans upstairs.

I never thought I'd be reviewing a garbage so now I am. I wasn't too thrilled with the selection in my local stores, so I tried here. I needed something large enough to hold a sufficient amount of trash but nothing wide or oversized. This is the perfect size and it's fairly sturdy as long as you don't put heavy waste. Top clamps down shut, but the cover has a small flat piece that you could open and close. Most of the garbage cans I had were mostly square but some with a cover and others don't. The covered ones bought in past years would not stay on right. It holds 13 gallons of garbage but wouldn't fill it to that capacity. This will happily last for a few years, it should if I take proper care for it.

For the price its great. For a child who tends to make a lot of garbage its great , vybil stick to it well , labeling sports equipment , trash, recyclables, etc... Is easy , and fun to 'decorate' with vynil stickers or add to.with PVA (PVA beads a bit on this material but works if you use a brush. Edit: may not seem like much, i added a photo for some kinda idea. But the lid goes over the bag essentially locking it into place. I prefer this because oversized bags like i Used easily can be tied off and put out of sight. Also peoce of mind. A good pratice to new cans if bags get suction stuck is small.holes on bottom sides to aliviate pressure. Even at max capicity though, and it being only 10 gallons and all i havent had an issue. If you are creative. Using sheets of vynil, spray paint , whatever your medium (minus ,well many like charcoal/sketching) you can make these look nice. I've seen some nice design's already. A garbage can may have been the most useful thing I've bought in since all the way back in 2019. Happy new years everyone. Be safe. Celebrate by buying stickers on the cheap (by the hundred, also vynil) and design away. Or start from scratch and makenyour own decal. Or simply do nothing, buy it. Use it. And forget abiut it because its pretty solid. Damage isnt the seller daamge is the delivery service, dont fault thid for comming broken, resch out. Mine has no lid and i didnt reach out so I took one from a basement one.

The product is great, but the packaging was very disappointing. The quality of the can itself is as stated in other reviews--the lid opening is a bit small to scrape plates, but the look and size work well in my kitchen, so I'm pleased. The sides are quite ridged. The top, albeit plastic is of the quality I expected, and works well. However, it was shipped in a box 2x the size of the can, and arrived scratched and scraped up; so, this maybe of concern to some, but the position in my kitchen leaves the sides somewhat concealed, so not a huge issue for me.

Good trash can. I got this for the kitchen and it looks good, easy to keep clean and I like that the lid can come off for a wider opening as I live in an apartment and do not have room for large scale trash can. The size is very accommodating for a smaller space.

La familia creció y mi bote ya quedaba muy chico, buscaba y me parecían demasiado caros lo de metal, me anime x este de plástico y es ideal y lindo, ocupo las bolsas grandes de marca propia de Walmart y quedan perfectas! Lo súper recomiendo!

We are a family of 3 1/2 (1/2 being our 7 month old baby) that just moved into a 2 bedroom apartment. The kitchen is not too big, about 5 sqft x 7 sqft of space to walk. We have small garbage cans in every single room, including the living room. Therefore, we did not need a huge garbage can for the kitchen. Something that would easily fit under the sink. Unfortunately, the Umbra Grand 10 gallon waste did not fit under the sink, due to the sink itself taking up room. It would have fit if the lid was not so big and round. However, luckily we had a spare cabinet just beside the sink, and the waste can fit perfectly in there. For a reference in the height of the waste can, I am 5'6" tall and the waste can comes to my mid-thigh. I quickly got used to the waste can being in its own cabinet and I prefer it that way now. I like that it does not take up much room either, so we can easily to leave it outside of the cabinet if we wanted to. I like the sleek and shiny look of the waste can. It can easily fit into your home's décor and will not stand out. I like that the lid has a swing door that opens and closes, which does help keep odors in. It's a sturdy and durable waste can that is easy to wipe clean. Very satisfied with this waste can.

Me gusto mucho el bote no es el mas elegante del mundo pero esta muy practico esta muy pero muy grande permitiendo acumular mucha basura y ademas el precio es muy bueno y su tapa giratoria es muy suave y no permite que sea vea su interior y su olor no se escape tan facil. Al ser de plastico el manipularlo no le afectara como alguno de acero inoxidable que se puede rayar o golpear y queda la marca. Sin duda lo recomiendo para cocinas medianas y grandecitas.
