IIT 99851 Twist Tie with Cutter, 2-Pack

I love having these in the house. I keep one in the basement and one in the kitchen. No more trying to save twist ties from the garbage can liner box! I usually keep several precut, but it's nice to cut them to size when needed. I primarily use these as twist ties on bags of food and to keep cords on appliances wrapped and out of the way. But, I've used them for many other purposes, too.The cutter is easy to use - just pull the twist tie out to the length you want, stick it in the cutter, and press down. Presto! We keep the ones we've cut and reuse them many times. We likely have the majority we've cut - they eventually get sort of crumpled, though and I'm sure I've thrown a few away.I just bought my second set - and am giving it to my mother-in-law - she loved them the last time she visited.

Thought they may have been a little thicker/wider but they'll do.

I didn't notice any indication on Amazon's product description of the thickness of this wire or of its plastic coating. (I don't see any "wire gauge" number on the package itself either.) However, this wire is much skimpier than similar products I've bought in the past. The wire itself is thinner, and the flat plastic coating that surrounds the wire is significantly narrower. (I'm sure of this because I had a piece left over from the previous spool I had bought elsewhere, and compared them.)I find this narrower twist tie slightly less convenient to use in general -- slightly harder to handle -- but the real difference is if you're using it to tie up plants (which is why they make it green, and is one of the uses they recommend). The narrower wire/plastic is more likely to cut into (or groove, or disturb) the plant, especially when wrapped directly around delicate leaves like on a succulent or snake plant, to "train" or constrain the plant. I therefore consider this an inferior product for my needs. It's not worth returning, and unfortunately the two spools will last me a long time so I'm stuck with it... but I wouldn't have bought this if I'd known how thin the wire is and (especially) how narrow the plastic coating is.

I was growing very aggrevated with my loose computer cords, headphone cord being tangled, etcthis was a great way to organize and tidy up the loose cords from tangling into one another and becoming a nightmare to untangle, I would relate using this twisty tie cutter with floss. You just pull out how much you want and cut it with the metal wire cutter attached. My only problem with this product is that if you pull out too much twisty tie wire and don't want to cut all of it, there is no way to retract how much you have pulled out, otherwise this is a great product.

What I expected. The quality is good. They do the job and the price was right. They arrived very quickly. Totally satisfied. I would have given them 5 stars, but I can't bring myself to say I love twist ties no matter how good they are. They're twist ties.

I have a large amount of different sized cables (the life of an IT person) and this is about the best thing I have found to keep them stored and organized. You can make each "tie" as long or as short as you need. The cutter seems sturdy and the tie wire is...tie wire. I now keep this in my travel bag, even though I am sure it makes me look crazy! Well made product for a great value!

It's hard to find twist ties anymore. These you cut yourself as needed. The stuff if plastic over wire, not paper, so it works well. It is thin, so probably not for really big jobs, but it is strong. We use it in the kitchen and gardening. We are on our second roll and it lasts a long time. Happy with it.

This is a good product and I wish I had bought something like it before. I bought to use as ties for homemade sucker wrappers but I have ended up using it for all sorts of things. Very handy to keep in the kitchen.

Exactly as advertised ... Worth gold for jobs around the house and garden.
