Worked better than I thought...
It was time to replace my old table saw, so I started looking around. I wanted a table saw fastened to a platform which could be rolled around to where you want it. You could find them, but they weren't cheap. The price on this SKIL saw was decent, so I ordered one, hoping for the best. It had no wheels, but at least it had legs. The legs looked really cheesy and flimsy, but after reading the reviews, I thought I'd order the saw and reluctantly test it. I'm glad I did! The pictures do not do the SKIL saw any justice. It took 30 seconds to set the legs up and it is sturdy! I was really surprised. I'm also really warming up to this saw without wheels. The legs fold up easily and fast giving the saw a small footprint and easily stored. I'm impressed. The table saw fence is sturdy and quite impressive. This saw will handle everything plus more than my old saw did. It has the power and extra features you don't find on other table saws. Get one, you won't be disappointed!

Good quality portable saw at a great price
Very pleased! I chose this saw because it was less than half the cost of the worksite saw by the big D brand, and a little more than half its weight. I wondered about quality and precision, but the price and Amazon's return policy prompted me to give it a try. I am so glad I did! This is an excellent portable table saw for a home-owner or skilled handyman. Its rugged, stable, powerful, and accurate. The table is a little small compared to a heavy contractor saw, and there is no provision for add-ons like table extensions. But its fifty pounds lighter and less than half the price of those saws! Is this the perfect saw? No. The table is small and it is loud--quite a bit louder than I expected. But, still, it is a good quality portable. It is light enough to carry with one hand, and it folds small enough to store on a shelf. Exactly what I wanted. Highly recommended! Update after a year's use: I've used this saw on multiple home improvement projects. In every case I've been the limit to accurate cuts, not the saw. I will saw the sound gets tiring; it's a very loud saw. But I'd still recommend this saw. It has worked very well for me, and I'm glad I bought it.

Super value, great price
This is much better than some table saws I have used before. Yes, it costs a bit more than some, but the features really make it worth the money. The rack and pinion rip fence is great; the fence always stays lined up with the blade. The micro adjustment to align the blade exactly is also nice once you get it set, no more extra cut off by the back edge of the blade like happens when the blade is not aligned with the rip fence. Having one of the legs be adjustable in length makes it super easy to stabilize the table and having locations on the sides of the saw for storing things like the miter, push stick, the elbow for connecting a shop vac to help collect sawdust also has a clip for storing it on the saw!. The only thing missing is a switched power outlet for the shop vac so that it would always turn on when the saw was on. Minor inconvenience.

Innovative Table Saw with Space-Saving Features
This table saw is simply amazing! What I love most is how the legs easily fold up, making storage a breeze. The rack and pinion extended rip fence design is genius, allowing for precise cuts effortlessly. I recently cut through a 2x8 board with perfect accuracy and minimal effort. The versatility, blade size, comfort, and dust port all contribute to making this saw a top-notch choice. Skil truly offers great products at an affordable price. Highly recommend it!

An excellent table saw, and an exceptional value
When I decided to buy a table saw, I passed over this one at first, because I assumed that the legs would be wobbly. I was prepared to pay more for an 8.25" table saw that didn't come with any kind of stand. A stand was available, but it wasn't cheap. Fortunately, I was in a hardware store and took a few minutes to check out the table saws. Seeing this one, I gave it a little push to see how badly it wobbles. I was sure it would wobble, but it proved to be very stable, the same for intents and purposes as a stand with fixed, non-folding legs. The comparison with the other saw then became a no-brainer. One of the disadvantages of the 8.25" saw is blade selection. Also, the maximum thickness of the work piece is not good. Comparing the two saws, with this one the sturdy, folding stand is part of the saw, for no extra charge, and it is a 10" saw, and it has the same features as the other one, particularly the rack-and-pinion setup for the rip fence. And it costs less. It just didn't make any sense to choose some other saw. I've only had it a few days, but I needed it for a project and I've been using it a lot. I am very pleased with it, and impressed with the quality. I had to make one easy fix to the rip fence. I had to partially disassemble the rip fence, in order to file off a little bit of the end cap at the far end, which was slightly proud of the rest of the fence and would potentially cause the work piece to catch. It took me about 10 minutes to do this. The only notable criticism is one that applies to virtually every saw that you can buy for less than $500. The miter gauge is cheap and practically useless. Evidently, most people who buy table saws use them only for ripping. For everyone who has never used a table saw but is considering buying one, the rip fence is usable only for making cuts parallel to an existing, perfectly straight edge in the work piece. For every cut that doesn't fit this description, you move the rip fence out of the way and use the miter gauge. There is one other trick you can use, with the rip fence, which involves double-stick tape and a secondary board with at least one perfectly straight edge. The rip fence remains perfectly parallel with the blade and the miter gauge slot, as you turn the knob to move the fence right or left. This is a huge, huge advantage over a rip fence the you have to unclamp and clamp each time you need to move it. If you're considering a saw that doesn't have a rack-and-pinion drive for the rip fence, I encourage you to change your mind and buy one with this feature.

Must have for home DIY projects
This is a good quality table saw for the price. I have used it for my home diy projects and it works great. Only little complaint is the machine is a little too loud.

天板がだれてハジの方で真っ直ぐじゃなかった。 ちょっと残念。 でも他は扱いやすくて良いとおもいます。 高い金払ったんで、楽しみながらやっていきます。

I just returned a new Ridgid 4518 because it was impossible to square and set up. It was very cheap material wise which really surprised me because I am a fan of Ridgid. Don't buy it. Save up until you can spare $200 more and buy this Skil. It is really amazing. Accurate and square right out of the box. The rack and pinion fence adjustment is so good. Truly a well engineered tool. Lots of power and finally a saw that controls the dust fairly well. I have a lot of confidence in the saw which is important when working with a tool of this nature. Highly recommend you get this tool in your shop.

Definitivamente recomendada.

Perfect size for hobbyists. Didn't want to lug around a frame and wheels. And the saw came zeroed on all adjustments. Great saw for the price. And customer service was fantastic at getting it to me when I needed it.
