I got these to help my son who was struggling with reading in school . These were a great helpFor him and he enjoyed reading the stories .

After reading a few reviews I wasn't sure if there was a big enough change from stage 2 to stage 3 but I can definitely say this is a nice step up. My 6yo lacks a bit of confidence reading and was settled reading the stage 2 book but I wanted to push her. This book is testing her confidence again but in a good way. She has to think about some words but without them being wildly difficult.There is a mix of fiction and nonfiction and the stories are a few pages longer than stage 2. This has again tested my 6yo. The pictures also help with telling the story and keeping interest.

Perfect for our 5 year old

Great resource with a range of exciting stories to interest the reader. My only recommendation is to check the stage as stage and levels on the songbirds scheme are different. I bought stage 3 as my child has moved onto level 3 songbirds but both level 2 and 3 are covered in stage 2. My mistake. Still a great book and we have ordered stage 2 until she is ready to move on to this.

My 5 year old loved these stories.

My son was given online reading during lockdown and struggled with it. So I judged this as being his level and he’s re-found his enthusiasm for reading. Great stories and lovely book.
