Fantastic bit of hiking kit, thoroughly recommended.
Got this and immediately cooked some rice. Absolutely amazed to get perfect rice first time. I've ordered some dried mixed vegetables and bought spices and stock cubes, and I think this is going to transform my lightweight hiking meals. Put 100g rice, stock cube, dried veg and a few spices in a ziplock bag, just add water when ready to cook. Way healthier than the dehydrated meals you buy and completely customisable.Pot is very lightweight, 900ml and 291g with lid (but without inner) so great as a camping pot to boil water or cook normally on too.Really impressed.

another great Keith product
Amazing product, this time Keith exclusive.Takes a little time to get ratios of water/food right but gives you amazing fluffy rice every time. Works great for steaming frozen veggies as well.Beans, grains, legumes-all tastes amazing. After 6 months of use (pretty much daily) silicone seal works as It should. Despite some reviews stating otherwise- WORKS on induction tops with no problems. Thank you Keith for making transition to healthy diet easy, and loosing 10 pounds:)

Great product - in the home or outdoors.
Titanium is notoriously hard to machine and Keith seem to be leading the way in innovation with titanium products. This product works as advertised. It is probably aimed at the outdoor/ camping market, but I would urge them to consider marketing this for home use as well as it produces perfect, hassle free, fluffy rice (enough for four) to the bottom of the pot and with minimal clean up. I've since experimented with adding chopped veggies, shrimp and bouillon and the results have always been stellar - it really is foolproof. The instructions say 15-25 minutes cooking time - I use the guide on the rice packet itself. For example, my long grain basmati says bring to the boil and simmer for 11 minutes. Taking into account that titanium has different heating properties than a standard stainless pot, and given that it's a sealed, narrow bottomed pot (almost a light pressure cooker) the boil was achieved much more quickly and therefore a 15 minute simmer was perfect - leaving 1 cm of water in the outer pot. Timings will vary for brown/ wild rice although timing isn't critical in my experience just keep an eye on the steam venting through the top so that it doesn't boil dryWhy only four stars? - Well the instructions say that it will work on induction stove tops...it's titanium and it doesn't! Also, as others have pointed out, the silicon sealing ring is crucial to its operation and Keith doesn't, currently, offer spares on its website - this needs to be addressed for what is an expensive item.I would definitely recommend this, though - it opens up a whole new way of producing one pot meals, both at home and in the great outdoors.

Keith rice steamer - titanium!
To sum up, this is a great product. Steamed my first batch of rice at home. It took about 20+ minutes to stream the rice. I had to check along the way as there is no magic way to determine if the rice is cooked or not. Don't know if this will be an issue whilst camping. I had it simmering most of the time. It will burn fuel on the trail while you wait for your rice to be cooked.Only issue I have with this rice cooker is that no instructions in English were supplied. I easily found them online but you do need to know how it works to get the rice /water mixture correct. That knocked a star off!The container itself is big. I'm sure you'll be able to fit a small gas canister and burner with the rice cooker. Helps to utilise the space you don't have in a backpack. I'm sure once you've cooked the rice, you can use the outer pot to boil up a brew to have with your meal.I definitely recommend the product. It's not cheap, but then again, titanium is not cheap.Enjoy!
