I'm a carver. And I use this for carving.
I have a regular grinder but I wanted no cord in the way when I attached my Binford 5000 chainsaw carving blade onto this sleek device. It handles the chainsaw blade like a champ. Remember, no bearing down into the wood. You will likely regret it. glide smoothly over the surface and it WILL remove wood. Shield gives good protection from the aggressive blade, which will eat up batteries, by the way, so keep one on the charger. I have no complaints, honest!

Need big batteries to last.
Regardless of the brand grinders take a lot of battery. This grinder is way good, for small/medium jobs. If you are doing larg jobs a 110 volt cable grinder would be better. I use this every day at work with a 5Ah battery, for grinding off dicor off of fixtures on RV roofs. I can do about 10 or so fixtures before my battery needs changed. I use the 110 corded grinder for grinding down screws on the new plywood I just replaced and anything else that pokes up, on the roofs of The RV. Before putting new rubber down.

Good machine
Does Milwaukee make anything less than high quality? If you've never used their tools, go for it. I was in the mechanical contracting business for over 40 years during the last 20 of those I always relied on DeWalt. They make above average tools, but Milwaukee makes better ones. Another business owner friend of mine talked me into trying a Milwaukee screw gun, I was hooked. They are worth the price. Now, if you're a home owner who might use it once a month, save your money and buy a more economically priced tool, but if you use it everyday buy Milwaukee. PS: I get nothing from Milwaukee to right this review, just being honest

...but I'll add more. Fits great in hand, takes 4.5" cutting/grinding/wire brush/etc. disks. Paddle trigger is a great feature in that it allows you to shift the tool in your hand a bit without having to re-engage the trigger. And like the title says: It's a Milwaukee M18 tool. Top-quality construction. Looks good. Easily serviceable (if/when the time should come for needing that). Plenty of power for my tasks (mostly auto-repair - having to cut off rust-frozen nuts/bolts). I looked at the 2780-20, which is the brushless model - but for almost double the price, didn't see the point. If/when I need to replace the brushes (did that with a Milwaukee ¼" impact driver), parts diagrams and small parts like that are readily available from Milwaukee. If you're thinking about it, just buy it. Be happy. Like me.

Es una herramienta de punta, pero por supuesto, quiero ver el desempeño de ésta, y si me conviene, iré por la brushless.
