Keep up on Christmas Tree we have up year round in our Basement. Can program different holidays - currently have red white and blue for Memorial Day and 4th of July. Love the motion lights - very customizable. A little hard to initially get untangled, but once installed - work great.

So, these ain’t cheap. $130 at regular price or $90 on sale is still a lot of cash for a single set of christmas lights. Do they offer so much that they’re worth the price?I think so, yeah!Right off the bat, this style of tree lights (a "crown" with draped light strands) make it so much easier to install than your typical single strand of lights.Regarding the software setup, this was a bit of a hit or miss. Shortly after plugging it in, my phone prompted me to set this up. I believe this is a “Matter” feature that promises to simplify initial set up with Google Home (or whatever Apple uses). Unfortunately, this didn’t pan out for me, as I got stuck on the WiFi connect screen. Having already had a Govee account with some previous devices, this part of the setup was super easy… literally done & ready to go in about a minute.Speaking of Google Home, this device’s functionality is *extremely* neutered compared to the app. See attached photo. I am not deducting any stars for this, as this seems to be the case with many “smart” devices that brag about Google Home functionality.THAT ALL SAID, there’s a *ton* of features to be had with the Govee app. Not only can you program them to turn on/off based on time, but there’s a dizzying amount of light options. You can adjust the brightness - which is great, because if you’re using these indoors, you might want to dim these down because they’re super bright.However, the highlight for me are all the patterns that are pre-loaded onto the app. Yeah, there’s your plain solid colors but there’s so much more than that. While these are advertised as Xmas lights (and there’s more xmas patterns than any other holiday), there’s so many other holidays available to pick from. For example, there’s a Valentine’s Day pattern, a St. Patrick’s Day pattern, Easter & Halloween. If these patterns are not to your liking & you’re feeling creative, you can also create your own pattern.My biggest downside to these lights is that some patterns are hard to make out when installed on a tree. It kinda limits its useability… still I don’t think that’s worth deducting a star over.In my opinion, I would *not* use these with indoor christmas trees with ornaments. They’re meant to be laid over branches - this is where the patterns are most visible. If you’re putting ornaments over the lights, it’ll be harder to see whatever pattern you selected.Overall, I’m pretty impressed by the quality, setup & ease of use of these lights. Again, I’d recommend these be kept outside for all the different patterns available.5/5

Even at full price, they'd be worth considering for their smart features and durability, but the Black Friday discount made them irresistible.Only Minor Drawback: My only wish would be for a slightly longer power cord for more placement flexibility, but this is a minor inconvenience given all the positives.Conclusion: These Govee Christmas lights have turned our tree into the talk of the neighborhood. These Govee Christmas Lights are hands down the best holiday lights I’ve ever bought. They’re so cool! Each light can be a different color, and you can pick from millions of options. The way the lights flow and change colors is honestly so pretty. I’ve used them on my Christmas tree, my patio, and even some plants inside, and they always look amazing.There are tons of presets—like over 125 different modes—so no matter what vibe you’re going for, there’s something that works. I’ve used them for Christmas, parties, and even just for fun, and they make everything feel more festive. The music sync feature is probably my favorite, though. The lights actually move to the beat of the music, which makes them perfect for parties or just dancing around the house.They’re also super durable. They’re waterproof, can handle the cold, and are flexible enough to wrap around anything.
