Blazing Fast and Reliable Storage!
I upgraded to the Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1TB, and it has completely transformed my system’s performance. The speed difference is night and day compared to my old drive — boot times are almost instant, applications open in a flash, and large file transfers are effortless.Installation was straightforward, and Samsung’s Magician software makes it easy to monitor health and optimize performance. I also appreciate the excellent reliability Samsung SSDs are known for, which gives me confidence in storing important files.Whether you’re a gamer, content creator, or just someone who wants their computer to feel lightning fast, this SSD is worth every penny. Absolutely recommend!

Big Upgrade from my Previous SSD, Easy to Install, Fast, and Good Price!
This 990 EVO SSD (2TB) is an excellent upgrade for my laptop, especially after my OEM drive failed. I handle a lot of photography work, so having a high-capacity, high-speed SSD was essential, and this fits my need fantastically so far. Installation was quick and easy, the SSD was recognized right away after some driver installation, and formatted with no compatibility issues, even on my older laptop. Compared to the Kingston drive that originally came with my machine, the 990 EVO is definitely faster, with file transfers, boot times, and application loading all seeing noticeable improvements. The stated speeds of up to 5,000MB/s are about double my previous drive as well, so it seems on point, and read/write speeds overall are much better. The design and build quality feels reliable and less flimsy too. For 2TB of storage at this price point, especially from a trusted brand, it's a fantastic value. So far, it’s been performing flawlessly, and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone needing a performance and capacity boost.

Absolutely Obliterated My Old SATA SSD - A Must-Have for Gamers
As a PC builder and heavy gamer, my old SATA SSD was becoming a serious bottleneck for my i7-12700K and RTX 5070 Ti system. I chose the Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2TB to be my new primary OS and games drive, and the difference is staggering. This isn't just an upgrade; it's a complete transformation.Real-World Performance: The Numbers Don't LieThe specs are impressive (up to 7,250 MB/s read), but the real-world results are what matter. Here’s what I saw after cloning my Windows 11 Pro installation and my main games over:Windows Boot Time: Cut from ~25 seconds to under 8 seconds.Game Load Times: Loading into my save file in Cyberpunk 2077 went from over 30 seconds to about 9 seconds. Levels in other demanding games load almost instantly.File Transfers: Moving a 100GB game folder from my old drive to this one took just a couple of minutes, a task that used to take over 15 minutes. The PCIe Gen 4 interface is the key here. Day-to-day use is incredibly snappy, and the drive doesn't slow down even when installing a huge game while running other programs, thanks to the Intelligent TurboWrite 2.0 cache.Installation & A Note on HeatsinksThe M.2 2280 form factor made installation a breeze on my ASUS PRIME Z690-P motherboard. One of the main "cons" of this drive is that it doesn't include a heatsink. This was not an issue for me, as my motherboard has its own built-in M.2 heatsinks which keep the drive running cool under load. However, if your motherboard doesn't have one, I'd recommend buying a cheap M.2 heatsink to ensure you don't get any thermal throttling during intense, long gaming sessions.Final Verdict: Worth Every Penny for a High-End BuildWhile the Samsung 990 EVO Plus is a premium drive with a premium price, it's one of the most impactful upgrades I've ever made to my PC. The sheer speed and responsiveness it brings to the entire system are undeniable. If you have a PCIe Gen 4 compatible system and you're still using an older SATA SSD or a slower NVMe drive, this is a no-brainer. It unlocks the full potential of your other components.I've attached a photo of the drive installed on my motherboard under the heatsink. Highly recommended!

Solid, fast, reliable, and cost effewctive. Can't go wrong here.
I decided for my new build to go with a pair of 990 EVO NCMe(s) at 1Tb. The new MB slots for NVMe are PCI 4x4 so these are a perfect fit. Performance is excellent. Hitting close to spec numbers for read and write. They do run fine with just the heat tape but would get up to 60C when loaded (still very safe). I decided to use the heat sinks that came with the new MB and that keeps them under 50C under the same load. So better longevity and performance. At $75 you can't beat these for bang for the buck and reliability. I'm sold on Samsung and still with this generation.FYI. I have 2 Samsung 980 EVO NVMe(s) at 500Gb in my old system for 2 years. Before that I ran 970 NVMes and 860 SSDs. Never a problem. I still have an 840 SSD that I use in a portable enclosure to move data around. No errors on it and I'm sure it's past its warranty. These things just keep going....Make sure you run backups on your system. Even with this track record you can't afford a crashed disk!
