Only used a couple of times on 6/4 wire. Works fine. For the price, a great value so far. Feels like they should last a while as they are built pretty solid. So solid that the ratcheting part is a tad stiff though I expect that to loosen up over time.

I am putting a diy solar power system together and needed some way to work with 4/0 AWG cable. This wire is super thick and most of the cutting tools I saw on Amazon only claimed to work on thinner 2/0 AWG wire. Many also had long hair does for leverage and reviews claimed that it was difficult to cut straight due to the required force needed. This ratcheting cutter made cutting the 4/0 AWG copper cable very easy to do with one hand. Perfectly smooth cuts through the thick stuff in seconds as easy as thinner wire. I am very impressed. I can't make any claims about longevity since I've only had it about a week, but so far I think this is a fantastic tool that fits easily into your tool box. Well worth the cost even for just allowing me ti finish my project.

Great for cutting heavy copper. Cutting a lot of copper will lock them upp after awhile. Cuts thick aluminum like butter.

Used these to cut 4/0 aluminum cable and smaller. The 4/0 had 3 conductors and a ground. Went right through it without much struggle. Not sure about longevity, they are still working after several cuts - and much cheaper than name brand!

Wire cutter works well for cutting different size power wire

Been using this tool for the past month and I’m really impressed with it durability and efficiency on cutting big wire. Great addition to my tool bag and should’ve bought this a year ago. All my apprentices love using it vs using a bandsaw to cut big wire. No shavings and no mess to clean up after. 5 starts across the board
