A good starter Kindle
This Kindle is small enough to hold with one hand it’s pretty light. The screen quality is really good. Feels like I’m reading a book not a computer screen and I like how they added dyslexia font to all kinds so now I can read a lot better and I like how you can borrow library books, and put it on the Kindle. and the battery life is wonderful for long trips and this kindle is good for taking anywhere, it’s easy to use and the price is not that bad for an E reader perfect for people who don’t want to spend a lot of money for a Kindle. This was my first Kindle until I upgrade it to the colorsoft Kindle. but if you’re not reading comic books or graphic novels, this Kindle is a good one for any one who wants to try Kindle. The only thing I do not like with the Kindle program is the trade-in value sucks. so I just end up keeping the Kindle I’ve already bought. But that’s my only complaint about the Kindle. I get better trade-in for my Apple iPad from Apple but Amazon does not give you a good trade and value towards a new one which is why I hardly ever upgrade, but the book selection is wonderful. You can use it with your local library using Libby Goodreads is connected to it. Amazon needs to look into another program because Goodreads sucks. I like how Kendall gives you encouragement to read every day and it will ask you how many books you want to read in a year and tell you your progress and I really like that and I like how people with dyslexia can now read more comfortably if you just want to read books this is a great starter Kindle

Very convenient and perfect size
It’s very light weight and convenient to carry around. It’s small enough to carry in your pocket or purse but not too small so you still get the feel of a book. I was used to physical books for years but after getting this kindle, I rarely buy physical books anymore. It’s perfect and you can read many more books conveniently especially longer books which I like. It would be nice of the book titles were in color instead of blacks and white but that’s a minor issue.

Best purchase EVER
So far I LOVE it. The color is GORGEOUS and true to the pictures, the screen, when the brightness is turned down looks just like paper. I paid to have no ads and it is soo worth it, navigating through the device is super easy. Sometimes it takes a while to respond if it looking up a book in the kindle shop but other than that is responds super well. I've read some manga on it and the pages turn super quick and super easy to read on. It's small enough that u can take it anywhere I popped it into the rose kindle case as soon as I got it but this thing is pretty sturdy. There's no buttons which is kind of sad but the touch screen is textured and doesn't feel like an iPad or phone while ur kindle is off it'll display your book cover on the screen but u can disable if u want. Overall the experience is a 10/10 and I couldn't recommend it enough

Cute size for travel
It's much smaller than I was used to, but I found I like the sleek style of it and it is easier to hold in one hand, especially in the car or on the bus. The size is a bit small to see the book icons, and there is no way to resize those. So just be aware of that. I often use more than one device so for me, this is mainly for lightness and compact-on-the-go. The matcha color is dreamy!!! So pretty and cute. I am glad I upgraded to a newer model and was happy they had this model available still. The speed is so much faster than my old model.

Good little compact reader for busy lifestyle…
I am an avid reader and am in the car driving long distances often, so loved to have my Kindle plugged into car stereo system and listened to my book. I have always loved my older Kindle that had text to speech capabilities. After recent updates I was forced to buy a new Kindle to even just read. I researched and found the 11 & 12th generations have updates that allow text to speech. Downside: you have to Bluetooth to a speaker or headset as these do not have internal speakers. The IPad Kindle functions are easier to open up the library than new Kindle, but I am learning. Some how I find my finger swiping for next page and end up a chapter ahead. Not sure how my finger also ends up getting the font size prompt to come up at odd times and when I actually want to change font size, I have to scroll and click several different prompts. Upside: Nice size, great price, and can read it at night in bed without light. Great battery life so far, connects to Wi-Fi very easy too.

Best Little Reader
This is great little Kindle Reader; I bought the Match green one & the color is perfect! It's lightweight, easy to handle, and fits perfectly in a purse. It's black & white screen is easy to read, and like the bigger readers, the font can be changed by font style and size to fit your needs. You can order books with this reader, but not Amazon's wide range) products. . The advertisements state that you can go up to 6weeks on a charge, but I don't believe that. I read a lot and I have charge it every day or two. All in all, I think this a great reader. I also bought the case and it's a great item also.

I READ A BOOK IN 4 DAYS! I haven't read a complete book in years until I bought this Kindle!
I've been trying to read books again for the last couple of years without much success. In 2025 (and probably 2024), I never finished a single book that I started. That includes self-help, college textbooks, and friend's books! Fumbling with books, turning pages, trying to remember to carry it with me, all of that made it difficult for a working adult with a family to sit down and read, even for a few minutes. Not to mention my arthritis, needing to wear reading glasses, needing a light just bright enough to make out the words, and more. I ordered this Kindle on New Years Day and fully expected to get bored of it in a week and want to get my money back. I downloaded my first book (Included in KindleUnlimited), by an author I never heard of (even though she's critically acclaimed and has had books turned into movies) and started reading. I was INCREDIBLY SURPRISED how easy it was to read on this thing. It's MUCH better than a physical book, by leaps and bounds. I started reading the book on Monday and finished it by Thursday. I can't wait to start my next book! The book was good... and that kept me interested, however... a few things about the kindle made it easy to finish the book so quickly... 1) Mainly, it was how easy on the eyes and the size of the text. I didn't need my reading glasses at all and the text was clearer than any book I've opened in the last few years. 2) It's lightweight and fits in my pocket! I like to (try to) read books of all different shapes and sizes; from large hard back to small and thin paperbacks. It doesn't matter the author's preferred format, this kindle puts them all in my pocket with ease! Plus, one-hand reading is easy, I don't have to "hold back" the other pages while fumbling from page to page. 3) The feel of the screen is smooth and it's easy to turn pages with the same hand I'm holding it in, but even better with a quick swipe of my other hand. 4) It's just the right amount of brightness with the backlight. I can read it without the backlight sometimes, but I prefer the backlight already and my eyes don't strain. It does drain the battery much faster, but I believe I could finish an entire book without having to charge it at all. Overall, this thing is amazing and I look forward to expanding my mind and READING on my spare time instead of playing mind-numbing games on my phone. I do love my card and board games, but they might have to take a backseat. Both my phone and this kindle fit in my pocket easily so if I want to take a break from reading spades and backgammon are always available...

I love these new kindles!
I have had kindles since the DX. Over the years amazon has continued to improve the technology. My last kindle was a voyage, which I still have and love. I actually prefer the crisp display on it but it is very slow. This year I have picked up two new kindles, the paperwhite and this basic kindle model. Why did I get two? My beloved voyage is an older model, prehistoric in technology years, so I picked up the paperwhite. At first I was a little disappointed because the display of the voyage is still the nicest. But after fiddling with the settings I got it pretty dang close to perfect. I love the new menus. It made me fall back in love with reading again. I had slacked off a bit with my older kindle because my library is pretty large and it became unwieldy. The new ones have a lot of features people have been wanting. I like that I can change the sleep time. I like the way the home page and library can be customized. And now that I'm back in the saddle with reading, I decided it would be worth it with the promotion to get a spare so I chose this basic model. I don't know which one I like more, the paperwhite has some nice features but I haven't used them much yet. This basic model is every bit as readable and is light and portable. I like having a backup kindle. The voyage has a nice display, the nicest in fact, but the speed, settings, and menu options on the new ones are such a big improvement. The basic kindle is a very good value if you don't need the warm setting options of the paperwhite. I actually think the basic model is a little better, the white seems a little whiter. If you can get only one kindle you can't go wrong with this one. I chose the black because it's less distracting when I'm reading at night. I learned with my DX that I don't need to dress my devices up with bright colors or patterns. I also got some plain jane covers with them to get a more immersive reading experience.
