Can't go wrong with Llama Llama
I LOVE all of these books, and this one is just as adorable as all of the other ones in the series. This one worked great for a camping theme birthday party!

Cute contemporary story
Camping with no gadgets. Our little one is not yet old enough to understand the message of enjoying the outdoors without "gadgets," but it's a fun story about Llama Llama camping with his friends. Good story with colorful illustrations. Great introduction to the camping experience.

Good intro to Camping with Familiar Characters
I bought this hoping for a kid-friendly introduction to some basic camping concepts, and for that, this was right on target. The book did a great job of matter-of-factly mentioning cooking outside, sounds of nature, sleeping bags and tents. I appreciate that it didn't follow the "what was that noise? camping is scary! oh it was just XYZ, camping is fun!" formula that I saw in other books I looked at.So for prepping kids for their first camping trip, I recommend this book, especially if they know Llama Llama and friends already. Beyond that, it's just a so-so book (which is really just a transcript and images from a TV series). It lacks the sing-songy lyrics that we loved from other Llama Llama books. Yes, as other reviewers have pointed out, it's pretty heavy-handed in the "you don't need electronics to enjoy nature" theme. My kids are looking forward to camping, so I count this as a success.

Great introduction to camping for children. Learning while having fun.
I purchased this book once already. This is my second purchase. We have a camper and want our Grandchildren to enjoy camping. This is a great introduction to camping. Husband, & myself take turns reading to the kids making different voices for different characters. When we say llama llama the Grandchildren all laugh. We say it in a slow southern drawl. 2 are learning to read. Now they are using different voices as well while reading. What can I say it’s my 2nd purchase of the same book. Grandchildren are being entertained, learning, and having fun!!
