Meta Quest 3 Open Facial Interface — Works with Meta Quest 3 — Keeps physical room in sight — Increases visibility and comfort

The open facial interface should come with the Quest as default. The main benefit is that it allows better airflow so you don't sweat as much and moisture doesn't build up in the interface, which some people have reported as causing their Quest to break after extended use. The second benefit is that your peripheral vision is way better with the open interface, your brain just processes the background easier so your spatial awareness is less impacted. As expected from official gear, it's high quality and well designed. It's a must have for anyone that uses the Quest for VR fitness classes, though I am thoroughly disappointed that this does not come default with the Quest.

Good to be able to see your surroundings and this stops fogging up of the lenses and lets heat from the Meta Quest 3 disperse.

I was surprised at how useful this open type face interface would be. Firstly, it can be a little difficult to attach, to get it to securely clip is not easy, but once done it locks in fine, more about that though later. This has been great when playing standing, more so with mixed reality type games. With MR games you need to see your environment, so this does not change any aspect of the immersion, it is excellent for that. Next, there are some in the family, who have issues of sickness or balance problems, when wearing a headset, this has helped tremendously for those. Next, so cool..............No I mean it is so cool and no longer sweating and steaming up the lens on the headset, that is great. With typical non MR games I have found it takes a little while to get used to seeing your room in the periphery of your vision, but when adapted it works ok. The padding is as good as a std facial interface, no worries there. And as you no longer seem to sweat then there are no issues associated with that. Going back to the difficulty to fit...... This can be an issue if you wish to change between facial interfaces. You just need to be careful and take your time. Doing it is not super hard, but it is not as straight forward to get this open type one to clip easily. So to swap between the std and then this open, if wanting to do this often, might be an issue. For the cost, this is reduced in price, it is great value and we are so glad to own it. It is most comfortable on a range of head sizes and offers excellent peripheral vision, no longer tripping over things on the floor...! Great to have, a little difficult, but worth it, to attach.

It is the perfect size to allow glasses to be used and also is less emersive, which has proved good for my wife who finally now plays VR game switch me, although I'm having to use my old quest 2! Very happy to have got this for less than a tenner. Thanks

I’m amazed at how much more I prefer being able to see my room and it never fogs up the lenses and it’s very cool not sweaty air hot in for long sessions. 1 warning for buyers would be you have to deal with the glare and reflections from the lenses caused by lights in your room. Personally it isn’t something I’m bothered by but just a heads up for people who can’t stand that.

Too much flexibility means the interface pops out at the bottom when tightening. This is not a problem with the unit or my quest as others have the same issue. It seems to be a design flaw.

Since this is the only open face bracket that allow proper air flow out there I had to try it and I love it. You still get so immersed that you forget the outside viewable distractions and no more fogged up lenses, sweat dripping everywhere, etc. I highly recommend this product!

I ordered this open face interface and I'm glad I did. It's brilliant, doesn't decrease the experience one little bit. If you're like me and sit down to watch a film or play a game next thing an itch or steamed up specs. Well this take care of that , nice and cool. Worth every penny.

I have mostly been using my headset as a viewer for 2D screens placed over my real space in mixed reality and the added peripheral view is great but I would say the biggest benefit is being able to use the headset on a warmer day since it doesn’t cut off airflow like the regular light shield face masks would.

I've bought more "comfy" facial interfaces than I’d like to admit, and for the longest time, I avoided the open-style designs—big mistake! After using my Quest 3 for over a year, I can’t believe I waited this long to try one. This is hands down the most comfortable interface I’ve worn. No more overheating or getting ridiculously sweaty during AR/VR workouts. What really surprised me is that it still maintains immersion incredibly well. I’ve found myself even more lost in games like Racket Club and Supernatural because my peripheral vision blends seamlessly with my real-world surroundings. It almost feels like I’m just wearing glasses. Even in full VR experiences, I’m so dialed in that the open sides don’t bother me—if anything, I appreciate that my face can finally breathe. TL;DR: Do not hesitate to buy this interface! It’s seriously fantastic all around—especially if you value comfort and breathability.
