IMS Big Bang Ultra Thin 0.5 mm Puck Screen with Magnet Pin, 58.3mm.

I have been using the standard mesh style screens and while they are effective, they are messy to remove. Since this is magnetic, you can easily remove it before knocking out grinds. The thickness is also perfect for La Marzocco machines which have the middle screw on the brew head screen.

I've been pulling my own espresso since 2019 with a GCP, it seems like every year there's a new "must have" gadget. Different baskets, tampers of all kinds, distribution tools, etc. I've tried most of them. This is easily one of the best ones to get. It keeps the group head very clean and the shots are a lot less likely to channel. The included magnet makes the work flow smooth. If you're not good about back flushing your machine like I am, you need this!

After first use, I noticed less channeling, drier pucks, and more consistent espresso. Also, very easy to clean. A big thumbs up.

Only puck screen I have used that lets grinds pass through. Does not fit big bang filter basket properly. Too small. The manufacturing process involves making two holes on each side that lets grinds inadvertently pass through.

This one and the E&B are the only ones that really makes difference, because I have bing bang filtered, I use this.

A bit pricey but works well and the magnet to remove the screen is brilliant.

Did not fit my 58mm Normcore portafilter even though basket was 58.5. Fell out easily.

I saw another customer wrote about this back in March as well. If it were flat, it looks like everything else is high quality.

Fait le travail : en empêchant le contact entre le café moulu et le haut de la machine, on réduit les séances fastidieuses de nettoyage. Le petit aimant est très utile pour ne pas perdre le filtre : il reste en permanence collé sur ma machine à expresso (une Lelit). Ce filtre n'améliore pas de l'écoulement de l'eau (contrairement à ce qu'il semble prétendre). Il est très facile à nettoyer. Le seul véritable bémol, c'est qu'au bout de quelques utilisations, il "gondole" très légèrement, mais sans que cela n'influence négativement la qualité de l'expresso obtenu. Attention : l'utilisation du filtre peut nécessiter de modifier les réglages du moulin.

L'alta qualità costruttiva si nota subito. Lo schermo IMS Big Bang mi ha letteralmente sorpreso per come ha pienamente risolto, specie sul caffè singolo, il problema della canalizzazione o channeling che si manifesta quando la polvere di caffè, opportunamente preparata per l'erogazione, viene investita dalla pressione dell'acqua (9/10 bar). Il ridotto quantitativo di caffè ai bordi rispetto al maggiore spessore dell'area centrale del filtro singolo, costituisce un punto di rottura della superfice di caffè quando entra in contatto con l'acqua sotto pressione, comportando inevitabilmente una irregolare estrazione del caffè. Lo schermo ha la funzione di proteggere da questo shock il caffè pressato nel filtro, mantedendo la superfice di contatto pressocché integra per tutta la fase di estrazione. Neanche la preinfusione, ove presente, può mitigare questo problema. L'acqua si distribuisce perfettamente su tutta la superfice dello schermo senza creare barriera al flusso di acqua che raggiunge alla perfezione tutta la polvere di caffè. Le differenze tra caffè singolo e doppio ci saranno sempre, specie con caffè di qualità, ma con lo schermo e tanta passione il divario si può ridurre al minimo.
