The Next Generation has Arrived
With the 5.0 firmware update and the new Drum Kit feature, the Prime has taken a major step forward. This is my second unit, and HeadRush continues to show strong long-term support and commitment to updating the platform. The sound quality through my two FRFR 108 speakers is excellent, and the Prime still delivers some of the most realistic amp, cab, and IR tones in its class. Functionality is a real standout. You get a powerful looper, a deep drum machine, an amp cloner, a full suite of guitar and vocal effects, USB audio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a large touchscreen that makes building rigs fast and intuitive. Control options are extensive, from assignable footswitches and scenes to onboard and external expression pedals. The global settings and remote editor add even more flexibility for live and studio work. The included power supply is solid and reliable, and the overall build quality feels ready for heavy gigging. For the price, the Prime offers tremendous value for money considering how many devices it replaces. Updates like the 5.0 release make it an even better investment over time. If you want an all-in-one unit that keeps expanding in capability, the Prime is an easy recommendation.

Nothing short of amazing
I am a gigging musician and I love everything about the Headrush Prime! I was on the fence with this or a Kemper and went this route due to ease of use as well as cost. It sounds amazing. The control options are easy to figure out and adjust. The quality is top notch. The breadth of sounds is simply amazing. I have owned the boss multi effect unit - which is pretty good - but this is nothing short of great. You will not be disappointed.

Love it. The tones are improved!
I have the original Headrush and have used it for years. The new unit has stepped it up as far as tone. The new features are great but I am more impressed with the quality of the sounds. If you are a first time user there is a learning curve but it is not hard to use and playing around with it and experimenting is the fun part.

Mind blown - awesome
I did my research, if im going tindrok a thousand on a processor im making sure its the right one for me. Im blown away at how versatile it is. I used itnata gig next very next day, and I had no problem finding a preset thst I liked and had a great gig. I cant wait until I have the time to dial in my own custom rig.

Killer board
So I’ve been using this product for a little over a year now and I think it’s important for me to come back and provide some insight for those of you that are looking into one or about to pull the trigger. To keep things simple, I would say go for it. There is a ton of stuff in this board! In fact, there is so much and so many capabilities that I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface. Do not be phased by all the other boards that are constantly coming out or throwing ads in your faces, because this one is just as capable, if not more capable than the rest. I have personally sat down and tried the quad cortex, the newer fender tone master, as well as the infamous helix, and I can honestly say that the headrush prime is right up there with all of them. In fact, after playing around with all the others, I’m still sold on the prime. The one thing that I think it outshines the rest in is the interface and touchscreen, although the lack of dedicated software for the computer interface might be the only downside. Believe me, all of us that already on the board have our fingers crossed that it comes out one of these days! Either way, every board out there has its pros and cons, but when the dust settles, I’ll still be rocking my headrush prime!

Got my HR Prime yesterday…
So the the first thing you’ll notice is how truly massive it is. Coming from the Boss GT-1000, it’s kind of shocking how big and heavy it is. Not that that’s all bad - it does give you more space between switches - but I can’t imagine gigging it with more favorite pedals attached. Well maybe if you play on a lot of large stages… So far I’ve played through a bunch of presets plugged into my (much loved) Heardrush FRFR-108s. Some of the presets sounded okay, but most suffered from a massive overload of bass frequencies. So I figured a quick trip to the Global EQ would let me dial them out. Nope, the Global EQ is non-functional. After doing the 3.10 firmware update it’s still non- functional. So pre-beta functions on a production unit - ugh! So far the interface seems promising as well as a lot of the effects and models. I keep looking for a plate reverb, an intelligent harmonizer (with keys and modes) and some more modes. Hopefully they’ll follow in a few weeks… I’ll continue this review after having some more experience with the unit. In the meantime, you might want to wait on buying one.

I've had the prime for over year and i primarily use it at home for creating tones and recording. You can get amazing tones however you will need to work on them or get good quality captures and irs from elsewhere such as on the headrush cloud (which is a lot better than some say). The interface is great, the touchscreen and graphics make it fun to play with it. The extra knobs you get with prime over core make it a bit more immediate for twiddling settings. The practice tool is great load up tracks to play with, you can slow it down, loop parts , very useful. Ever since the last major update , they have sorted out any glitches (wifi cutting out was really annoying), the unit is very reliable. The only downside is that it is a beast, large and heavy. I also have a nano cortex, and the tones you get from the headrush more than match up with that.
