The Vicohome CQ4 2K solar security camera works impressively well for outdoor monitoring. Setup was straightforward, and it connected to the Wi-Fi without any trouble. The solar panel that comes with it is solid quality and keeps the battery charged easily, even with regular use. Video and picture quality are crisp both day and night — the color night vision is a standout. It records smoothly and lets you store footage either on an SD card or through an optional cloud subscription. The two-way audio is another great feature; the sound quality is clear enough to communicate without distortion. Motion detection responds quickly, and the built-in siren and flashlight add an extra layer of security. Altogether, it’s reliable, practical, and well worth it for hassle-free outdoor surveillance.

After hearing about a few recent break-ins in my neighborhood, I decided to upgrade my home security by buying a few cameras. I live on a corner lot with limited lighting around my home, and I needed several viewpoints without breaking the bank. The ability to pan/tilt the camera makes it easy to view my property lines without having to have 50 cameras pointed every-which-way. It's convenient and easy to control through the app, so no complaints there. The included solar panel is solid. I've got the panel on the top of my roof in direct sunlight and the battery level hasn't budged since the installation. Still, there is an internal battery that can be charged if you don't want to use the panel, or if you'd prefer to plug it into an outlet directly. The set-up through the VicoHome app was very easy, just hold down the power button and add the device through the app. From there, the app gives recommendations on where to install the camera for the best results, pretty straight forward stuff. I'm pleased with the build quality of the camera itself. It's lightweight but it doesn't feel cheap. All the ports and electrical bits have thick rubber gaskets for waterproofing, there's nothing exposed to the elements so I expect the camera itself to last. The night vision is very crisp and captures motion well. The second photo is using the included LED spotlights; it's very bright and some slight blurring does occur but it's still clear enough to make out everything. For the motion detecting, I've not had any issues outside of a false positive where a bug kept flying by the sensor. Not really the fault of the camera itself but something to note if you live in a place with a lot of movement activity. Overall, a big thumbs up from me!

This solar security camera works great! The 4MP video is super clear, the battery stays charged, and setup was really easy. I love that it’s completely wireless and keeps my home protected without any hassle. Great value!

This camera has great video and long lasting battery. Easy setup. Only returning because i thought it would scan and monitor 355 degrees. I would recommend this item.

This is one more update for this product. The other day I got an email survey from this company asking me to review their technical support! Have to admit, either they are really stupid or never read any of my emails that I sent to them. Hopefully they take what I wrote in their survey to heart and improve their support. I am not betting on it and neither should you. This is an update to the review that I wrote previously below. My long term experience with these cameras have been horrible. Initially I bought two of them. After a few weeks, one of the cameras cannot reliably connect to the Vico Home app on my phone. The other camera has a battery that will not charge even on the most sunny of days. I have sent a large number of emails to technical support. One tech, by the name of Sherry, was anything but helpful. She kept asking me for more details. I supplied all the information I had after two emails back and forth. She kept sending me emails looking for more information which did not matter and was irrelevant to the problem with the cameras. Of course now, I cannot return them for a refund. In my opinion, these cameras are a very STRONG DO NOT BUY! Save your money. You will experience nothing but aggravation with the product and with the support! I looked all over the web for suitable cameras to provide coverage for my entire property. Most of them either got mediocre or poor reviews for their image quality, battery life and difficulty to set up and pair. Because of their locations and the difficulty charging batteries on some units, I decided to opt for solar powered cameras. At my age, I do not need to climb ladders to replace or charge batteries. The cameras arrived and I fully charged them with a wall outlet adapter. They took less than 30 minutes to come to a full charge. I proceeded to read the very easy to ollow directions to pair them with my network. It took me less than 10 minutes to successfully pair both cameras. The video quality is outstanding as is the capture field of view. It works well at night also. Good resolution and color all things considered. I am totally happy with these two cameras. I will probably buy a couple of additional ones. Thank you Sovmiku! This is an update to my prior reviews. I have been living with these useless pieces of junk for a year now. I would give them negative stars if I could. The cameras spend more time being disconnected from my network than connected. They do not always reconnect. The video is "choppy" and does not slow "live" motion. There are delays and pauses in the video. The battery life is the worst in any wireless device I have ever used. The solar panels get hours of direct sun. Two of the panels were replaced due to being defective. They were supplied at no charge which was nice of Vico. No real improvement. Batteries often go dead overnight. Do not waste your time or money on these pieces of junk. They are not worth the aggravation, financial outlay and disappointment.

Notifications of any movement are from 5 to 25 minutes quality isn’t the greatest doesn’t always pick up vehicles or people not really worth the money

Started off ok, now it's just stopped recording any movement outside after 3 months, also didn't get anything regarding free cloud storage for 2 years so they might want to remove that.
