2K/4K HDMI Signal Generator, Analyzer and Cable Tester

The hardware is produced by Cypress Technology Co., Taiwan. (model CPHD-V4L). There are other vendors also who are reselling this model in the US but Altinex version has custom firmware with the Easy Mode. This also comes with a nice case, cables, 18650 battery and a power adapter. Would have given 5 stars if the PC software is provided with the unit but unfortunately that's not the case. But I would still recommend this over ones sold by other vendors.

This is the best device for troubleshooting HDMI and DVI connectivity and more importantly, fully supports HDMI 2.0 for analyzing 4K60 UHD video, and can scale the output to 1080p for verifying content. It’s a bargain for the features available and comes with a small pelican-style case with a short HDMI 2.0 cable and a charger. The case has room for a few small adapters as well. I’ve only scratched the surface of what it can do and I’m expecting it to stay in my toolbox for many years to come.

All these test devices frustrate me. How hard is it to load useful test patterns on a generator, so you can properly setup monitors/displays. Like so many of these devices out there, it lacks those fundamental patterns. This specific one lacks patterns to allow you to set up Gamma, black level, white level, and detailed CMS. It literally would cost them nothing to add the proper useful patterns in (other than memory). No Sale!!!
