These headphones are very light, the sound is crisp, and controls are responsive. The headphones sit over the ear and the speakers sit outside the ear canals, not in or touching the ear. The start, stop, pause, volume up and volume down controls are simple buttons behind the ear on the right side. I like the simplicity of the controls. One thing I especially like about this is that nothing is likely to trigger them unexpectedly like my wet hair or a light rain. I have fat fingers and don’t have any trouble with the controls. These are reported to have an IPX4 waterproof rating, meaning they are resistant to water splashes from any direction. As such, I have worked out and even taken a shower with them and have had no problems. As soon as I opened the headphones, I turned them on and paired them with my phone. I already had the truefree app installed for a different style of headphones. I opened the app and it quickly recognized the headphones. The first thing I did in the app was check the headphone charge state and I saw that the charge was full. Next, I clicked on the settings cog in the upper right and checked to see if the headphones had a firmware update pending, which it did. I hit the button to update the firmware and it was done in a few minutes. Like other reviewers, I noticed that the maximum sound was still a little low, however, I was familiar with the capabilities of the app. So, I went into a quiet room with no interruptions or sounds and did the hearing test in the APP. This adjusted the sound levels by creating a custom EQ setting based upon my particular hearing. I chatted with a friend for a little bit and the sound was very good. Next, I paired the headphones with my computer. I had turned on “Dual Device Connection” in the app. So, when I used to headphones to stream a film the sound source switched from my phone to the film audio. The clarity and crispness of the sound was excellent, even though I had a washing machine and dryer running in the hall. After wearing these for hours, I still find them to be very comfortable. They do have some angles in the form where they contact the back of the ear. I am very sensitive and after a few more hours, one of these spots bothered me. I rubbed it smooth with a fine nail file! This is the only minor issue I have with these. If that starts bothering me again, I am going to put a piece of moleskin on it! These don't move during dynamic workouts (jumping jacks, jump rope, box jumps, burpees...). Even when I am upside down doing handstands, they don’t even shift! They lasted at least 15 hours before I needed to recharge them. Recharge was fast and the covered recharge port was easy to access on the right arm. There is a red light to indicate when the charge is not complete which turns white when charging is finished (see photo). I have attached photos of the Charging state in the APP when it first said it needed recharging, then fully recharged again after 90 minutes of charging. Plus, I included an image of the Firmware update screen and I am very happy with these!

Personal Experience and Thoughts -------------------------------- I am a huge fan of the open-ear headset format. Being able to listen to whatever I want and still be able to hear what is going on around me is perfect for a lot of situations. There are several useful situations that can include work, exercising at the gym, being in a public space, just walking around town or in nature, raising the kiddos, etc. In whatever the circumstance, you are aware of what is going on around you and you can listen to what you enjoy. This particular set worked really well when dealing with external noise. No, there is no noise isolation, but there is nothing IN your ears when using these. This really helps to avoid ear fatigue. I will say that the volume could be allowed to be higher by default. With an AC and other house appliances running at the same time around me during my testing, there were instances where I had a little trouble listening clearly to the videos I was watching at full volume. Battery ------- The battery life is pretty good. Having had this connected and used on and off for over an hour with YouTube videos and gaming, the battery still showed 100% on the phone. It was about 91% within the app. In my testing, it was about 15% in about two hours of use. At this point, I am positive that the 15 hours battery life advertised is pretty accurate based on usage. With that being said, the phone battery indicator and the Truefree app battery indicator weren’t the same as noted above (More on that later.). With charging, at 85%, I started charging at 1401. At around 1428, the charging light turned white, indicating that charging was done. The phone and app indicated the same afterwards. It is about 1.75 minutes per 1% of charge from 85% to 100% (some devices charge more slowly at this percent range). Sound Quality ------------- Using the Sony LDAC codec, the quality is stellar, that is what the LDAC codec is used for, hi-fi audio quality. This is at the sacrifice of higher latency (the time it takes from an action to happen on the phone and the user hearing the results). Using LDAC, there is more latency, even in Game mode. The bass-heavy Mick Gordon DOOM 2016 soundtrack was great coupled with the Truefree Bass Enhanced EQ Preset. Using LDAC while listening to the Skyrim soundtrack was epic. IMHO, the Rock preset is the best with more bass but being able to hear the finer instruments and vocals more clearly. Voice calls were clear. The other person I tested with could hear me without any issues or delay. They work well as a phone headset. Being wireless is always a plus. Controls -------- This is where the headset was a little odd, IMHO. The volume of the Android phone I am using was separate to the volume via the controls on the headset. Pressing the volume button on the headset did not show the volume changing on the phone. In most cases, these are one and the same and the phone would control the headset volume or the headset would control the phone volume, but this wasn't the case with my own testing. My only criticism for correcting something is if you reach the highest volume, the tone that would sound would play for each button press. If you press the volume up five times at the top of the volume, it will sound five times that you are at the top. This was a little annoying when you didn't hear the tone at first due to what you are listening to, or due to what is going on around you. At that point, you just have to wait to hear what you are playing. One thing to note, as far as I could tell, there isn't a way to program the controls to do what you want. It would be nice to define slightly different controls to functions. For instance, double pressing up and down to skip tracks instead of holding down for 1.5 seconds to skip. Software -------- About the battery indicator... the battery life indicator on the phone showed 100% after over an hour of use. However, using the Truefree android app, it showed only the Left battery (maybe there only is one battery and it identifies as Left-only), and while the phone showed 100%, the app showed 91%. It stayed at that 91% for a long while. It appears that the phone battery indicator goes by 10% increments. When the app finally went below 90%, then the phone showed 90%. The phone continued to show 90% even after the app showed that the battery had gone below 90%. It would be nice if the phone battery percentage and the app percentage were the same. Latency ------- Bluetooth has been notorious when it comes to latency issues. This is expected since Bluetooth is only able to send a small amount of data at one time. This is intended to save power, and therefore battery life. If Bluetooth could send more data to allow for better sound and lower latency, it would drain the battery more quickly. Being frank, Game mode whilst using the LDAC codec isn't worth it. The latency was around 250ms-300ms from what I could tell (this was not a scientific measurement, just listening and measuring multiple instances whilst playing Implosion: Never Lose Hope). Turning off LDAC codec improves this by more than half. It was more difficult to determine the timing with LDAC off and just listening to the audio post action. It was certainly playable without any disorienting effects. Build Quality ------------- The build is all plastic, which is fine and expected at this price point. The build is sturdy, yet loose enough to be bendable to accommodate normal wear. After over an hour's worth of use, it didn't wear out my ears. With double that use however, I started to feel it behind my ears. The set is really light and overall comfortable. You will need to give your ears a rest after a couple of hours of use. If I could offer anything that might assist with the build quality, if the headset behind the ear could be made of silicone instead of plastic, this might help reduce ear strain. Sometimes the edged of the plastic was a little scratchy. Conclusion ---------- Considering what these are, their price point, and the features, these are a decent headset. The included LDAC codec is a major plus for these, IMHO. I am a huge fan of this codec, with the exception of gaming. Watching movies and listening to music or audiobooks really allows the use of this codec to shine, as its use in this headset. If you want something of decent build quality with good features that allow you to listen to what is around you that won't break the bank, this is a good set to have.

Comfort and Design: These headphones are very lightweight, making them comfortable to wear for extended periods and the design is sleek. Ease of Use: The controls are well-placed and responsive, allowing me to adjust volume, skip tracks, and take calls effortlessly. In summary, these open-ear headphones are a good choice for anyone looking for good quality, easy-to-use, and stylish audio equipment for a great price.

I have tried in-ear earbud style headphones and on-ear over the head style headphones and I ended up having either discomfort and pain in my ear canals or discomfort from over the head style devices and cumbersomeness of them both. I also hated hearing my own voice reverberate in inside my ears with my ears closed. Plus I wanted to be aware of my surroundings all the time. I came across these which are a good trade off between the in-ear style and over the head style on-ears and decided to give it a go. It was the best investment I made. They are:- - Extremely comfortable: They literally hang over your ears and there is no pressure in your ear canals. I could wear these for hours with no discomfort issues. - Battery life is amazing: ,They last for days on end and then you have the case which provides extra charges on the go! - Microphones: I am using these primarily for Teams calls, the quality of the mics are very good in that they isolate noise to the other party extremely well. - Sound: Very clear for voice. Not much bass due to the open ear design but I was quite surprised how well they sound even for bass. - Value: These are very decent budget headphones that deliver performance and fit beyond par. These are not for those who require noise cancelling headphones with ENC and ANC. These are excellent for being aware of your surroundings while on a call or enjoying music on the go.

Easy to pair. Good sound quality and battery playing time. Another good point is usb -c charging. It's open air so it doesn't block your ears. If you like high volume sound, not recommended, because it works like speaker and everybody hear the sound that you are listening. With normal or medium volume, it's ok and good.

The open-ear design combining the over-ear hook and neckband elements ensures that the headphones fit securely and comfortably without causing any irritation. The only request I have for the next gen model is the ability to increase pressure of the speakers against the ears (tighter fit) in order to improve the bass response. For an open-ear headphone the sound quality is very good. The larger speaker drivers deliver full range sound and provide added motivation during my workouts or trail runs. Also, the open sound stage allows me to hear my surroundings while enjoying my favourite playlists. Call quality is also very good. The multiple microphones clearly capture my voice and suppress ambient noise, so my calls are clear in most environments. The ability to create a multipoint connection with two devices at the same time is very convenient. The Truefree app is available with this model and offers various sound options/enhancements, although the headphones will work without it. And when it comes to the specified battery life, I can only say impressive! Although I’ve only had the headphones for a short time, the 15 hours of continuous listening on just one charge will easily keep up with consecutive days of trail runs. After testing the Truefree F2 headphones for the past week, I can confidently state that I’m impressed by their unique design, comfort, features, performance and overall value. I recommend this product!
