Bought it for my husband. Ended up using it myself. I LOVE IT.

The media could not be loaded. I'm not easy to impress but this product has severely missed the mark. This is a low quality item. Currently looking for a high quality replacement as mine started retaining water internally and does not appear to come apart for further cleaning/drying. I wanted to like this, but this seems like it would mess with your health over time if it even continues to work. Would not buy again.Pros:- is rechargeable- adapters are nice- price is low so a beginner could get startedCons:- battery is limited to maybe 2 nice cups of coffee- machine internally retains water over time; no way to disassemble- the temp sensor where you load water is made of a metal that breaks down. This is located in a difficult to clean area so you may be ingesting metals with your coffee.

Saved me on my vacations when I didn’t have time for a coffee stop. It comes out strong, so I just added water after it brewed. Easy to make and clean.

Didn’t work. Yes it was charged.Thankfully bought during Xmas season so it had a longer return window. Just returned it and incurred a $12.95 restocking fee. When asked to Amazon why I’m getting a restock fee when it didn’t work, they told me the fee comes from seller. Ridiculous I’m getting a restock fee when the damn thing didn’t even work to begin with. Don’t buy!!!! Save your money.

We have a "real" espresso machine at home, but sometimes you're not feeling like doing that whole barista thing (like ground coffee and a machine vs. doing a k-cup...just give me coffee...). Also, what if you're away from home? These portable espresso machines seem like a good solution.I've tried the HX HECLX with my own espresso grounds and with the nespresso pods, and the coffee is every bit as good as our home machine makes.Just as the instructions say, it's takes about 4-5 minutes for the HX HECLX to heat the water and make the espresso. I like a double shot, and I found that I can use the same pod or grounds twice to send a second shot through the machine, and the coffee is only a little weaker than a single shot.Pretty easy to clean after using: just rinse/wash the pod/grounds holder and the cup. Done.The HX HECLX really shines for us when we go camping. We can now have espresso! If we want coffee, no need to setup the stove, get the kettle, etc. We use the nespresso pods, pop that in, and 5-minutes later--coffee. Bonus: almost zero clean-up.This is great little coffee maker that is especially useful when you want an easy espresso or you're away from home.

The media could not be loaded. I love to go camping and hiking and I also love me some coffee. This portable espresso maker definitely helps when I am not able to make myself some coffee. The unit fits nicely in a backpack when hiking or in a suitcase when traveling. Some hotels don't have coffee makers so this unit helps with those occasions.One thing to remember is that this is an espresso maker not a coffee maker. You wont get a nice 8oz cup of joe. You get a nice espresso shot. You could brew multiple times to get a larger cup, but just sipping on an espresso shot in the morning or after a long day hiking can do the job. The directions weren't the best, but it is a pretty simple machine. Put water in, (hot or cold) then press the button according to the water temperature used.I have used both hot and cold water with this, and I would say using hot is best, but I know when you are on the go it isn't always an option. The unit heats the water well but it doesn't get as hot as if you were to add boiling water. It also takes about 5 minutes to heat the water, so it isn't necessarily the fastest.Overall this produced a nice shot of espresso. Sure it isn't the equivalent of a high end countertop machine, but when I'm on the go, it does just fine.

Update: had to return device as water got stuck in it. Will return to 5 stars if second device has no issues!This has been a great product for me! I ski and sometimes have time to make coffee and sometimes don’t, for on the go quick shot or two this is going to be my go to! Can’t wait to use it on the mountain and camping! The buttons are hard to press and the instructions could be a bit clearer and offer more guidance. I grabbed this because it was a good deal and I’m not mad at it so far!

I had high hopes. I used this twice daily for 2 weeks. It was great. Tried nespresso, dolce gusto and ground espresso (this was awful but might have been my own user inexperience). All functioned fine. Toward the end of week 2, it started leaking at the seam of the body. I cleaned it and let it dry out. And then after a week without using, I saw dried battery acids coming out of the plug port and the thing is dead—can’t charge and is inoperable. I have returned it. I’m regretful that it likely will end up in a landfill.
