I purchased seemingly new stock directly from Amazon, as there was a lot of pre-charge in these batteries. They should arrive pre-charged, but only for a year from first being charged immediately after production, but even if they don't have a lot of charge when you first get a chance to use them, these batteries only require a very small amount of time to fully recharge, and I know that I can probably do this another 700 times before they start to fail. I use a very old Energizer charger, and I'm amazed how quick the batteries take to recharge, and then doubly amazed about how long they last in a digital camera; which is one of the most demanding and draining devices that typically eats batteries, and only the best rechargeable batteries are both the best economical and environmentally solutions here. These batteries work reliably well if purchased from reliable stock.

Bought these for my scanner when the factory installed batteries would no longer charge. They were a direct drop-in replacement and in 30 seconds I was listening again. The scanner has its own built in charging system so I didn't have to buy a charger for it. Battery life is great and I've found it really increased my listening time when I have to go outside with my scanner.
