This thing is cold, so quiet I thought we installed it wrong. The size is perfect for our wall. Powerful enough to keep the living room icy cold. I like the design how it uses water to keep cool (hopefully or I installed it wrong). Works as intended in the SoFlo heat!

This is the second one our family has purchased for this AC.We installed one last summer for my mom and we couldn’t believe how quiet it was and how fast it cooled her house in the summer heat.So, this year we purchased one for our house.It’s so nice to be able to cool our home and not have to turn up the volume on the tv or have to speak loudly when communicating. This unit is extremely efficient and quiet!We love that we found it again this year!!!And the AC comes complete with everything you need to install it in a window. We installed it in the wall and finished it with trim and it looks great.I also like the way it seals up when turned off.The weight and fit made for a quick install and the fact it is 15,000 btu and uses a standard wall plug is perfect.

Perfect unit that cools and entire 1 story ranch house! We have a 1500 sq ft home and this one unit cools the whole home and keeps it cool even on a 90 deg. plus day! Highly recommend, this unit is super easy to install and is very energy efficient in the Georgia heat this unit works like a champ!

Awful. Absolutely awful. The unit we received did not work properly. It did not cool the room, even though it is a small room. To make matters worse, the poorly designed shape of the AC's undercarriage, as well as the flimsy installation hardware, made it close to impossible to install in a standard window. Whirlpool clearly knows about these problems because the AC shipped with all kinds of workarounds and fixes that were (poorly) designed to compensate for the AC's defectively shaped undercarriage and hardware. The installation "design" requires you to leave all kinds of gaps in the window frame and plug them with white modeling clay. This is not standard for any other AC I have ever ordered. I will think long and hard about ever purchasing another Whirlpool product again.

Changed initial rating from 1 star to 4Pros: Quiet, pretty easy install, worked well for a while.Cons: Lasted 2 months then quit cooling. Guess I'll see how good the warranty is.Warranty experience: (turned out to be worthwhile)So far it is talk with someone answering standard questions: is it plugged into an extension cord, is it installed correctly, etc.Opened a ticket and have a case number, had to send pics of the install inside and outside the home, receipt and shipping address. Also wanted the serial number which isn’t on the label. Told a tech will contact you by email in 3-5 days.2nd UpdateReplacement unit being sent, current warranty extends to replacement unit. Better than being ghosted.

Very good AC. It cools most of my house and I live in a small craftsmen bungalow. My house is a three bedroom with the last bedroom being at the very back of the house. Everything stays cool except the back bedroom so I have a small unit in that bedroom.Installing it takes two people and you need to remove the unit from the compartment it sits in and install the compartment first.

Best window-mounted AC unit I've ever seen. It's quiet, easy to use and very effective. Makes its auto-adjustments nicely. I'm using it in concert with a less-than-adequate, though good quality, heat pump HVAC system. I always prefer more capability, working less hard, and this combination does that very well. Never satisfied with Factory options, I built my own mounting systems and space fillers, and this is the quietest thing I've seen, in operation. Just hope it's long-lived.
