OK this is definitely not a necessity, but it is a very fun little gadget. I keep it in my desk drawer because I’m not crazy about the design and I’m not sharpening pencils all the time. It’s certainly not an unattractive design but does look a bit toyish. It sharpens pencils very, very well. You put the pencil in and it comes out sharp. You can adjust the sharpness from very sharp to blunt. I’ve only charged it once and so far I’ve sharpened about 50 pencils with it over the last few months seems to hold up very well and to be of good quality and it will probably last. I have only tried to fit number two pencils in it, but I think it could sharpen smaller and maybe a little larger pencils. It’s a little bit expensive for a pencil sharpener, but based on the quality and the recharge ability and the fact that it works well I don’t think it’s horribly overpriced.

My favorite classroom sharpener. I did not allow my students to use it, but it did consistently sharpen pencils to a point. It was easy to see when it was full and empty the pencil shavings. The battery seemed to last about 2 days without a charge, but I ended up charging nightly so I never had a dead sharpener. It did work while it was charged. Well worth the money and I recommend this to all my teacher friends.

I needed a battery operated pencil sharpener for my kitchen island because I often work there. I already have a Afmat electric sharpener in my office and have been pleased with it. The battery operated one is just as nice and I highly recommend it. Leaves pencils at a nice sharpened point and releases the pencil on its own when it is finished sharpening.

Love this sharpener!! As a teacher I am always sharpening pencils. I am thinking of getting another one!
