Magical masterpiece from the early 80s
A superb cinematic experience from the early 80s. But don't let the age put you off because the production value and location and cast are all top notch and it has aged well. Great storytelling with just the right amount of mysticism and magic. The soundtrack is brilliant and helps to propel this film to masterpiece status up there with Bladerunner which is also similar vintage. Probably one of Boorman's best.

The Best version of Excalibur legend!
For me, this is the best version until today of the Excalibur legend. Great story, beautiful colors, fantastic sets, immersive music and finally great Cast, with actor Nicol Williamson do the Best sorcerer Merlin ever! The blu-ray has a nice image but I hope one day, Warner do a Restoration to this classic movie. It deserves it!

Very exciting film, with stirring music to match.
Wonderful film, in a superb transfer, really bringing out all the detail in this Arthurian tale. The music is very stirring, and really evokes an atmosphere which is most suitable to the action on screen. Seller highly recommended, and package arrived in excellent condition.

Classic
One of my favourite films of all time. Excellent cast, wonderful story. The knights look so heroic in their shining plate mail, and the portrayal of Merlin has never been bettered. A great and passionate watch from 1981, they do not make classics like this anymore.

Blijft een klassieker met goede soundtrack, ook het commentaar van Boorman is op zich wel interessant. Beeld ziet er goed uit , audio alleen 5.1 surround -puntje voor het ontbreken originele mix. en natuurlijke ondanks beloofde Nl ondertitel -punt voor afwezigheid daarvan op deze Italiaanse Blu-ray. Un vecchio film sulla leggenda di Re Artù e la sua spada Excalibur, ma tuttora interessante, con particolare attenzione alle battute del Mago Merlino! Un film ottimamente restituito in video ed audio in formato DVD.

This film seared itself into my brain when I sneakily watched it late night on Channel 4 as a kid. THAT scene...and that one...oh, and that one. Fantastic soundtrack to boot!

Excelente película, un clásico bien remasterizado con audio en español que es 1.0, pero bueno se agradece la opcion y subtitulos en español latino, el BR llego muy bien sin manchas ni rayones, excelente menú para selección de lenguajes, buena compra a un gran precio de menos de $300 pesos.
