SunChips Original Multigrain Snacks, 1.5 Ounce (Pack of 64)

I bought the box of the Original chips (the blue bag), and they’re a great substitute for regular chips since they’re lower in salt and sodium. The portion sizes are perfect — just enough to satisfy your craving without overindulging. They’re a bit pricey at regular cost, but if you add them to your wish list and wait for a sale (which happens fairly often), they become a great value for the money. So far, the chips have been fresh, and surprisingly, none of them were broken — all good, solid pieces. Definitely a satisfying snack!

I think Sun Chips are the best thing to come out of Frito Lay.,They taste great, they’re not a potato chip but a Whole grain Chip. In l’ve bought some quite a few of these. They are the only Chips I eat now!

Yummy chips. You just have to make sure that you don’t get a greasy package and not one that is about to expire. I also wish they would have smaller bags because it has quite a lot of chips in a bag and it is really filling.

PROS: I use SUN CHIPS for dipping. I like a quinoa blend and that is a kind of healthy DIP for me, but needs CRUNCH. THESE are perfect. NEUTRAL - because these are the BASIC SUN CHIPS, you just get that smooth corn taste. I wanted something that would overwhelm the flavors of whatever I was eating. SO Spanish rice, Lemon Pepper Tuna, Veggie Chili, THESE ARE GREAT. TEXTURE - CRUNCHY CRUNCHY CRUNCHY Neither TOO THICK or TOO THIN. I like they have a SLIGHTLY sweet corn taste and taste fresher and have a better flavor, to me, than Fritos. INGREDIENTS - Are these a HEALTH food? NO, however, they do offer MORE fiber and LESS FAT than most chips. I like the nutritional profile better than many chips, even the low cal ones. QUANTITY - These are ALSO A LARGER bag. Instead of one ounce, you get 1.5 ounce and THAT'S GREAT PRICE - FOR THE AMOUNT YOU GET, GREAT PRICE FRESHNESS - YES, these don't have a LONG shelf life. BUT that's because of the ingredients they use. I find it NO problem to eat these within six weeks and I have never had the EXP date be so close, I couldn't finish in time! CONS: REALLY NONE for me. IF you don't think you or your family can finish this large of an amount in month or so, I suggest you get the smaller size variety pack. 40 ONE ounce packs.

It worked out great for me. I have never purchased a bulk food item of this type online. But I had three upcoming trips and I love original SunChips. On September 23 I purchased the 64 count, despite the earliest trip a full month away, and fully aware of the warnings regarding early expiration date and stale delivery. No such problems. The entire allotment had December 17 expiration. I know because I checked every one. They remained fresh throughout, with the exception of one annoying outlier. That was in the middle and quite stale. I won't try to make sense of it. Instead of scrambling for various snacks through my 3 trips I merely had the big box directly behind me in the back seat and was reaching back there to grab another bag. Plus another at night in the hotel. Final bag was today. When more trips await I'll buy again.

My order of 64 bags of Sun Chips arrived in good condition. However, I definitely did not expect to find that the expiration date was only 5 weeks away! Who is going to go through 64 bags of chips in 5 weeks?

SunChips are one of my favourite chips and the original flavour is no longer sold in Canada. They are delicious. They arrived decently well packed in a large box. No packing material so they did get rattled around a bit but they aren’t all broken into crumbs so I guess it worked ok. $167 is a crazy price for 64 bags of chips (for $167, I counted to be sure they were all there!). I’d love to see an option for a smaller amount and maybe some different shipping options to make it a little more affordable. Large (full) size bags would also be nice. The expiry date didn’t bother me, I have 3 weeks to eat them and I think they’ll be fine for awhile past the official expiry anyway. Really wish they had these in Canada because I can’t justify almost $200 for chips. But what a nice treat to enjoy them once.
