Q: Will these work on 1/2 inch thick plywood speaker cabinet? I don't want them hanging over and blocking my access to the back of the enclosed cab.

You should be fine. I used them on a 1/2" plywood cabinet and they do not interfere with the front or back plates coming off.

Q: What is the thickness of the metal these are made of?

About 18 gauge or so. Thick enough to be sturdy.

Q: The cabinet corners are not square. What product closes the gap betwen the hole in the corern and the side of the cabinet?

A router with a 1/2 inch round over bit. They are not designed for squared off corners.

Q: Has anyone ever compared these for exact size match to avatar speaker cab chrome corners? these look to be the same exact shape and size.

I am not familiar with the avatar speaker cabinets but what I found on the chrome corners I replaced with these powder coated corners was that they were close enough that I could use a rubber mallet to make them fit. The fit was not exact and I used a drill to create new holes where the old screw holes didn't line up. If you're willing to punch new holes in your speaker cabinet, these might work for you.

OK, so metal corners aren't that racy are they? But they are necessary to protect the corner of professional musical speakers during transport. I recently bought a custom cabinet and it had the large, "stackable" corners on them. The speaker I bought is never going to be stacked with another one. Plus, they look big bulky, and kind of cheapen the look of the cabinet.I ordered these on a Friday and got it to Alaska in five days. Super service! Opening the bag, I saw that they were perfectly cut and machined for exactly the cabinet I bought them for. They fit perfect, and they are a nice powder black finish. If I need to do more cabinet corners, I will order these. Highly recommended!

These really make a box project pop! I made a camera case out of plywood & did 3/8" round over on the edges, then covered the outside in tolex & put these on the corners. Looks totally professional.Recommend black screws to match

Excellent restoration part

I resized and revinyled a Blue Voodoo head and these fit perfectly. The metal feels pretty solid and screw holes lined up perfectly. Excellent for a color swap or to replace and old beat up one. No screws unfortunately but new ones are cheap. #8 screw 1-1/2”
