Affordable and efficient
Much cheaper than ordering official PECS products. Much faster than printing out and laminating picture cards. Great starter for someone new to PECS

Budget‑Friendly Intro to PECS With Everything You Need to Start
A good budget‑friendly intro setup for PECS. As a speech therapist working with families, it’s important to find materials that are economical, convenient, and easy for caregivers to use, and this product checks those boxes. It’s a solid starting point for anyone looking to begin a low‑tech form of AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), and I appreciate that it includes everything you need to get started. The binder is compact, and I can comfortably fit about four vertical rows of Velcro—around 12 icons per page—without things feeling cramped or overlapping. Everything arrived brand new and nicely packaged. A couple of cons to keep in mind: The icons are not laminated, so they’re not as sturdy as I’d like. I’m unsure how long they’ll last with regular use. Laminating them would definitely help if that’s an option for you. Some of the icon choices are a bit odd. As an SLP, I’ve seen stronger symbol options for core words like “want,” and a few others could be more intuitive. Overall, it’s a good starter kit for families beginning their PECS journey, especially at this price point.

Poorly made
I initially was drawn to the price as sometimes Autism products can be very expensive. The little tiles are cheaply made. They are not laminated so they rip very easily. The sides are already bent before I’ve even started to assemble. It’s DIY in that regard, but essentially useless as the tiles are not gonna hold up for more than a week, especially using this child who is nonverbal .

Not functional right out of the box.
When I got this, I noticed right away that the cards are made from thin paper that a child would very easily be able to rip up. Thankfully, I have a laminator, so I laminated all the cards. Because I had to take the time to do that, which was not easy as a mom of 4 disabled kids and a job...I took a star off. I should not have to make a product I paid for more durable. Also, there are NO instructions..the video was vague and I had to figure out what I'm supposed to do to set this up correctly and how to use it for my non-verbal daughter. The cards could be labeled on the back as to what category of word they should be grouped in (like a sight word or a request, etc). It just shouldn't be on the customer to figure it out, make it more durable and categorize everything. For those reasons, I have it 3 stars. I know my daughter has had success with a book like this at school, so that's why I bought it and expect that she can still use it to help communicate, so I did keep 3 stars because I do think it will still be helpful. It's just inconvenient right out of the box but once I finally get it all set up and functional, it should work as intended.

Low quality for the price
Low quality and cards are not laminated for special needs children. It did not last one day.
