What should I do if I received the chain that not fit my machine.

You could contact seller through Amazon. I have tried once and they replace a right chain for me.

Will it it work on gas chain saw?

It makes no difference how the saw is powered. Actually, 8-10 inch chain is mostly install on pole and chainsaw. 12-18 inch is mostly install on chainsaw.

What material is the chain made of?

How can i be sure this will fit my saw?

Chainsaw can be equipped with different bars and chains. In addition to confirming chainsaw model, you must confirm your guide bar size need to be same to chain size such as Pitch, Gauge and Drive Link. Normally every manufacturer also will print size on tail mount of bar.
