Seems to work beautifully...
...for sourdough starter! Extremely new to this, and it wasn't working out well with Kilner jars. The size (smallest; perhaps a litre?) and the automatic gas-relief/release valve are a dream. I think they're just the ticket in reviving my 40 year-old starter that I was about to bin, due to the unfortunate act of murder (sourcide? startercide?) on my part. Yeesh. Within a week, the poor thing was unrecognisable, both in look and smell. Good gawd, the smell...eye-watering. I think it's coming back now, phew! *crosses fingers and toes* 😆 EDIT: Yup, it totally worked to bring the starter back to life. It's thriving. Great jar.

My first batch came out amazing!
Perfect jar. It made the process of pickling vegetables extremely easy, and my first batch came out perfectly! I washed the vegetables in tap water, but used a 3% brine made with bottled water. Jar is easy to clean and very sturdy. Comes with a handy wheel on the lid you can use to mark the date you started fermentation. I'm definitely buying another!

Easy Peasy way to get started with fermenting
I was wanting to start fermenting to get some pickles to get some good bacteria into my gut for health reasons. When I was researching it, it all seemed very complicated - with gases being produced and images of possible explosions arising in my mind!!! In the end I bought this jar, stuck some vegetables in it (carrots, courgettes, peppers, garlic cabbage, etc) and herbs (peppercorns, chilli etc), added some salt water, and left it for a week. It was a complete success...... Having said that, if I were buying one again, I would: 1. Buy some glass weights. These keep the vegetables below the water and stop mould forming. I improvised with a glass jar and a cabbage leaf, but weights would have been better. 2. Buy a jar where the opening at the top reaches all the way to the sides of the jar. This is because on this jar, if you place a weight through the opening - because the jar is wider beneath the opening, veg can sneak round the glass weight at the side. Ideally you don't want this to happen. So a great product but better options are out there - and I have seen a few on Amazon.

Well made
A well made thick glass jar with a tight fitting lid, I like the flange on the lid it makes opening a breeze. I have two of these and they're used to make Kefir, as with any fermentation it gives off CO2 but the valve lets it out so there's no hiss or sudden release of pressure when the lid is taken off, goes through the dishwasher with no problems.

It works!...
Excellent bit of kit. Works very well. Made some lovely fermented white cabbage. Took about 3 weeks at room temperature and then kept nice and crisp for ages in the fridge. No issues with this product and thoroughly recommend. 😊

Very Strong Heavy duty Jars, low profile air release valve, works perfectly.
Seemingly a perfect solution, however the two I ordered arrived well packaged, but the product box had a very strong smell of musty mould. So did the bubble wrap and and the jar and lid. It took a second dishwasher cycle with a prior soak of Miltons and lemon juice to remove the odour. Had I not noticed this any vegetable fermentation would have been tainted ! I can only suspect poor long term storage somewhere. I reordered 2 more jars, two weeks later but the same mouldy smell ! The positive was that once washed and deodorised they worked perfectly, each jar would hold a small shredded red cabbage of 700 gm perfectly. I also intend to use a jar for soughdough fermentation later on. Would I buy again, I would say yes, because the jars appear to be very strong and robust, but any further purchases will definitely have to pass the sniff test before use.

Just what we wanted
Great jar. Pay attention to cleaning instructions and don’t put in oven. I put mine in warm water up to boil after putting it in dishwasher, but dishwasher alone would be fine. Holds enough of anything and then forget about it; no water trough to worry about. Exactly what we wanted. Packaging was very good and English instructions and arrived quickly. Will order again. I already have two.

These jars are not very sturdy
I have used these jars a few times, the first time I used two of them I found they had cracked round the rim so the tops don't fit well now.
