This has worked out very well. While driving, I use my car's main/auxiliary battery to charge it up. I use a small portable solar battery when I'm not driving to keep it charged as I don't want to risk it draining my car battery (even though there are safety measures in place). The key is to pre-cool it and place cold food inside so it doesn't have to work so hard to cool everything down. Then you can run it on economy mode and whatever battery you are using it with will not drain as quickly.

Love everything about this portable fridge/freezer. Compact, wheels, extendable tote handle, reversible lid, LED lights at interior and easy to operate.

I have used this refrigerator on many occasions for various purposes.1. We use it to transport refrigerated items back from the grocery store during the hot summer months. It has two compartments and both can be either at refrigerator or freezer temperatures. We don't have to worry about getting home quickly2. We use it for long trips to stored cold snacks.3. We frequently visit our lake house (weeks at a time), and we use it to transfer refrigerated foods. Very handy because the nearest grocery from the lake house is 17 miles on dirt roads, plus it is very expensive.4. We will use it when defrosting our home freezer5. We use it on vacation so we can reduce the cost of eating out so much.The energy source can be either a 9V "cigarette lighter" type plug in, a standard household 110 outlet, or the (optional) battery pack. The battery will run anywhere from 3-10 hours depending on how hot the ambient temperature is. There is also an option for using solar power.I am a senior citizen and find it a bit heavy to lift with the battery pack. Probably no problem for a young person. It does have wheels and a handle for rolling it.I find that we use the Bodega very frequently, it appears very solidly built, and is also attractive. Only one minor suggestion for a future improvement. Put locks on the wheels to prevent it from rolling around in your vehicle. I use some small wheel chocks.

We absolutely love this. We have taken it in the back of our Yukon to ballgames, on our family vacation and getting it loaded down now for a birthday party we’re headed to! EVERYONE that uses ice chest almost on the daily needs one of these

Works great I travel with it everyday in my car to keep drinks cold and lunch and dinner food items good. There is just one thing I would love to know were I can get the battery for it that goes on the side of the cooler so I can have a back up power just in case.
