AeroGarden 800285-0100 Bounty Starter Seed Statering System

This was a gift for my nephew and his wife for Christmas. They were starting seedlings in open flats .... with bad results .... so these made their seed starting so much more efficient and successful!

I used this for the first time this year as this is my first year starting seeds. I also got a name brand of the silicone seed starters for soil and started them all at the same time. The seeds that I grew in this aero Garden seed starting system blew the other ones out of the water! I liked it so much I ordered another AeroGarden and another one of these and I will never start seeds the old fashioned way ever again. They grow so much quicker in this than in soil And it's so easy! You can go to the internet and find a template so you can write your seeds in it and print it So you know what you planted. It's easy to swap this out with the one that comes with AeroGarden.

Works very well - but ironically, I ALMOST prefer the smaller harvest 23 count starter tray as there is more room between plants than on this, so in the harvest you can let it get taller before moving to dirt. I now have had 4 cycles with these trays and have a 97% germination rate. There is typically 2-3 pods that never seem to sprout. Only Con? Difficult to detach the base form the original 9 pod to put on this item. Get this if you have the 2019 bounty system!

I have gone as far as fully setting this up and attaching the pump. Its a bit of a pain getting the pump attached/detached but other than that fairly simple design. The water does not trickle through each individual pod, but moresip, the pump keeps the water circulating so it doesn't become stagnant. You will want to watch the water levels more closely. The plastic pods don't fit inside all the way but the wet pods fit fine on their own. I want to try growing chives in this eventually and will try to report back when I do. Overall, quality is great, doesn't feel flimsy at all. The food was packaged nicely and the pods are all good as well. It does have instructions on how to prepare your seedlings for outdoor living as well which is nice. I look forward to planting a bunch of veggies in the yard using this seed starter this spring!

I'm very pleased with this AeroGarden inset it fits my little bit garden perfectly My seedlings, most of them, grew great and they've been transferred to my garden and are thriving definitely a good Buy. I managed to do two sets to get in in time for this year I think if I'd have started a little earlier or managed my time a little better I could have gotten three sets and it's a lot of seeds. You you don't have to get frames for the substrate it's got the frames built in it does block the working of the pump but that has not diminish its effectiveness . Good Buy. Probably just a little more expensive than it should have been.
