Does this negate lead fumes? (not just move them)...

Lead does not vaporize or generate "fumes" at soldering temperatures. The smoke generated when soldering is vaporized flux. If you've ever been to a concert, bar or nightclub where cigarette smoking is permitted you've subjected your lungs to far more toxic particulates. All the same, get some kind of fume extractor because all kinds of airborne particulates are bad for you. Just don't kid yourself that they are absorbing lead "fumes" when you solder! You'll get far more lead into your system by handling solder, not washing your hands after, then touching your mouth or nose areas.

Would this work if you put it on a coffee table to suck cigarette smoke in? Would you be able to elimate cigarette smoke smell?

Of course it would not work. As a person who smoked for a long time, there is only one thing you do that will get rid of cigarette smoke smell inside - go outside!

How many hours of use is each filter good for? I do jewelry, so no lead fumes.
