The suitcases all glide smoothly on their spinner wheels (though they do seem to bog down somewhat on hotel carpeting), and the sides are nice and rigid. They survived an international round-trip flight without a problem. I'm not a fan of the internal tie-down straps, though. My previous suitcases (different brand) had stiff, non-stretching nylon-belt straps with sturfy snap-together buckles and adjusters so that you could cinch them down good and snug, and be sure that whatever was under them would be held in place. These, on the other hand, just have stretchy elastic bands and what feels to me like a fairly flimsy "clip"-style fastener that really don't feel as though they'd hold up against any significant amount of force when it comes to keeping things in place. This isn't so bad for the smaller carry-on case, but it's an issue for the larger sizes.

I should have ordered the prior model but decided to get the latest one. The outside looks good and held up well with minimal marking. I was concerned about the larger wheels but they handled fine. The inside is where I reduced a star. I did not notice when I purchased there was no zippered mesh divider. The hardboard divider on this model can be hooked to either side. The flexible plastic hooks may not last long, take too much time to attach (the ends catch on the fabric loops) and are down from the top making them hard to find and use. The side without the divider only has very stretchy straps that really only contain large items. Even packing cubes slip thru the straps. Every time I opened the bag I had to make note of which side was down so to not cause the content to come tumbling out. Smaller items I would have contained behind the mesh now need to be buried on both sides. The only help is the hardboard divider pockets.

I needed a smaller suitcase for travel of about 1 week (in summer). My criteria included lightweight (relatively), hardsided (no particular reason), and some expandability (which I've never used, but just-in-case). I didn't want a set of unknown branded luggage, just wanted one case about 25 inches. This is one of the lighter bags I considered and it's considerably lighter than my 29-inch beast. This worked out perfectly for me for a 9-day trip. I carried a sport coat and nicer pants for an affair, lots of t-shirts, underwear, socks, an extra pair of shoes, etc. Although softsided luggage usually has more organizational ability, this has just a divider in the center that you can hook to either side. That worked out well enough. The divider has two pouches on each side with a zipper. The lock works well enough, and you don't have a dangling padlock, but I don't usually lock the bags. I figure that bad guys will get hold of the TSA key, etc. anyway. I would probably use it if I have to store my luggage. What I can't be sure of is durability since I've only taken one trip - 2 plane rides. There is a little bit of scuffing.
