Spectrum Language Arts Workbook - Grade 1 - NEW

I’m a public school teacher turned homeschool mom. I include that to say that I do have some knowledge of a quality textbook. I am using this as guided practice with my kindergartner. I purchased this book to help keep us on track for this school year. The book provides checklists and definitions at the beginning of each chapter for the teacher which will be a good refresher if you’re teaching your kiddo something you haven’t formally practiced since being in school yourself. The activities look simple, but are effective in teaching the principal. There’s also multiple opportunities for practice on any given principle. There’s a review at the end of each chapter that could be done independently to see if a concept has been mastered. I am excited to dive into this book with my student!

Very good practice and supplimental work for my kids. I purchased the Math, Reading, Language Arts, and Phonics books for them in 1st grade and Kindergarten (this is being used for an older vpker). Since using these work books our kids have gone up in test scores and are getting better at reading. I'll be buying more as the years go on.

Even though it's simple, it’s incredibly effective for ESL adult learners, especially when it comes to improving vocabulary and basic grammar The material is clear, concise, and well-structured, which makes it ideal for learners at different proficiency levels. It encourages the usage of English through scenarios, helping my students feel more confident in their everyday interactions—whether it’s work meetings or small talk. I have an adult learner who only knows a few words in English. The simple vocabulary and sentences have been invaluable in her experience of learning English.

Spectrum provides affordable and their quality is so reliable! A great language arts spine to use to teach your children. I love evan moore's language foundations as well.

I have really enjoyed using this book as a supplement or small group option in my first grade classroom. The book starts with nouns which is super appropriate for the beginning of the year and moves at an accpetable pace for most students. I have also used this as extra support with my ELL student!

This is a good book for spiral learning. As a former teacher I feel it is best paired with another program. This is my first year using it. I don't think I will use it next year, but it was a good foundation for my 1st grader.
