Exo Terra Wire Light, Small, 150W - Heat-Resistant Porcelain Socket, Safe Wire Guard, Ideal for Ceramic Heaters & Incandescent Bulbs

I buy these fixtures because they are recommended for ceramic heat emitters. They seem very well put together with a sturdy wire frame and wire hanger that does not easily detach. It also comes with a clamp that seems strong and solid. I do not use the clamp, I prefer to hang lights and heaters. The porcelain socket looks like good quality. The wire cage is about 7 inches in diameter the fixture is about 9-1/2 inches tall. I have noticed over the years that the plastic grommet that protects the cord where it enters the socket tends to get brittle and break apart. Doesn’t seem like something that should impact the rating though. I recommend these fixtures to any reptile hobbyist.

This is a really nice wire clamp lamp. I shopped around looking at some of the other brands and it was readily apparent that the fit and finish of this one was a cut above. I'm currently using it with a 60W CHE and a Zoo Med lamp stand and it makes for a solid and reliable setup to maintain night temps or to supplement your daytime temps. I've been using it every night for about a month and I have only good things to say. This definitely makes my list of terrarium essentials for the keeper that wants the best for their pets.

The lamp works perfectly and keeps the 250 watt ceramic heater bulb working well. Shipped really fast.

I bought this several months ago but just started using it two weeks ago. Already it has broken where the hinge and nut meet . Poor quality.

The product was well made, I would have liked a bit shorter cage for the heat emitter I use.

Best experience so far for a clamp style lamp. I usually loathe all clamp lamps, but this one is doing great compared to other brands. I really appreciate the on/off switch being lit up if the lamp is off. Make sure to check the tightening screw area when you get it. Shipping might make it a little too loose. This product arrived as advertised, well packaged, and in good condition. The clamp itself and the fixture seem sturdy and durable, and are flexible enough to accommodate any angle. It is used in our new iguana enclosure as we have not yet fitted the top of the enclosure for exterior heat lamps and needed something in the interim that would keep them warm while ensuring they do not come in contact with the ceramic 150 bulb we are using. The clamp has withstood any attempts by the iguanas to climb or disrupt it.Highly recommend.

We purchased this fixture to house a ceramic heat emitter for our bearded dragon habitat.Currently, I'm using a 100w emitter, but may increase to a 160W the next go around (still working out the nuances of our habitat).Anyway, this clamp fixture is ok. It basically functions as it needs to, but the clamp itself is too thin and not strong enough to adequately position well on the lamp stand (ZooMed - see my review on that item). And, the neck (the part before where the bulb socket is) doesn't adjust to different angles, which would be helpful. There is a screw and wing nut, which might lead one to think that it's somehow adjustable, but the (low) quality of the manufacturing just doesn't allow for much utility. Doesn't seem like it would take too much more, manufacturing-wise, to actually produce an excellent rather than mediocre product.At any rate, this fixture helps prevent heat build-up with the ceramic heat emitter and is the recommended product for such items.NOTE: We are new to reptile ownership. When I purchased the heat emitter bulb, I was going to house it in a dual mini-combo dome UNTIL I read the instructions, which said NOT to use CHEs in that product. The very nice sales associate at Petco did not inform me of that restriction. It's a safety issue. This wire clamp lamp fixture is what you need for CHEs.
