Recommend this vein light. I use it in the ER for harder sticks.
Definitely recommend!! So great to have in the ER. I carry it conveniently in my badge reel. I recently began working with peds so I purchased the firefly vein light. We have a nicu illuminator that was being used during a paramedic run. Pulled the vein light from badge reel and it worked very well for a chunky 5 month old baby and just recently a 4 week old. Wanted to come back and give this light a great review since it made it easier to get a line on these babies. The dimming gives it a broader functionality and very well sized to grip within patients hands.

Useful tool
I use this in a peds ER. The only thing I don't care for are the bumps on the surface. Every time I use it on a kid's foot, it's too stimulating. The device seems quite overpriced. Also, the only way mine will charge is with the usb-c cord sent with the product. When I use my other usb-c chargers, it won't charge. I'm still giving it 5 stars because I use it like crazy and it helps me in my work. Its never burned a patient (ya... I've seen other lights burn kid's) . Its small and fits in my scrub pockets nicely.

Awesome product!
This thing works wonders on pediatric patients of all ages! My IV starts are more consistent and my confidence has gone up with it. Not sure how I did it before without Firefly. Superior product for anything I’ve used in the past. A must have.

Fantastic Daily Device. Well Worth the Investment.
I'm a Medic working with primarily NICU/PICU patients. I do a lot of challenging sticks on very little patients- all the way from 22 or 23 week preemies, to fresh 7-10 day-old full-term babies, to toddlers and even up to teens. This device is amazing for what it is, but it still could be better. I've been using mine for about 2 months now, and it's in my pocket every single day as a go-to tool for infant sticks. Pros: - Light is plenty bright for preemies, neonates, and infants- and some toddlers. - Simple enough to use I can hand it to a random RN and they can figure it out in seconds. - Texture makes a difference, especially on infant hands. - Battery life is pretty solid. I can get a couple weeks pretty easily if I turn it off every time I finish a stick. - Included retention options are a nice plus. - Small enough to fit into a pocket Cons: - Challenging to clean. If I get blood on this, the seams around the outside and clip area are problematic. I want to be able to immerse this thing in bleach or smother it in purple wipes... and they only recommend alcohol. - Power button could be more positive. An audible and tactile click would be great - No battery life indicator, and seemingly inconsistent battery drain. No warning when it's about to die. - A bit bulky in thickness, which can cause issues when trying to hold it against a squirming kiddo. Other: - Could always be brighter- even if it currently rivals our hospital vein lights in brightness. - Would be great if you could immerse it... - Would be great to have yellow, UV, and white light options. (yellow for side views, UV to see if I left blood in the bed or on the pt's skin, and white light for cleanup) Overall, great product that I use constantly. Considerably cheaper and more effective than devices 5x the cost. I still feel this is a beta release and hope the company iterates a few more times toward perfection.

Must have!
I have been looking for a transilluminator small enough yet affordable for my nicu babies. This light is perfect. Small enough to hold in one hand for iv starts. Super bright light w 4 settings. Packaging was also nice!!!

My fave tool! Best I’ve tried
I love my new Firefly! As a travel nurse I have used a lot of different devices (Wee Sight, Astodia, NeoLite) and Firefly is far superior in quality and application. With the different brightness levels I have used it on patients as young as 6 hours old and up to 10+ year olds. Hands down my favorite tool as a traveling ER nurse
