that is the worse case scenario
So it's been about two weeks now. Here is my experience. I have suffered from varying levels of chronic back pain with some of the most serious times triggered by stress. In my mind, that is the worse case scenario, suffering from stress and then my back would start killing me. That would be followed up with trips to the chiropractor and then finally most of the time the issue would settle down. So, the last event I decided to investigate "natural" alternatives and my chiropractor suggested I try out this inversion table, he said it has helped him.So I got it in the mail, very heavy box and given my back at the time had to gingerly move it to the spare room to set it up. The CD included is awesome and made the assembly very easy to do, completely taking my time with a very sore back, I had it together in about 30 minutes. Adjusting the table for your height an weight is important, take your time so that simple arm movements will allow you to completely control the inversion experience. Its based on the laws of gravity, so it works great. Next for me I had to go slow with the inversion for two reasons. One, my back was very tight and still in pain, and I'm not used to being inverted. So I started at about 20 degrees then moved to 30 degrees and I could feel a burning in my lower back, something was happening and I would repeat this 3-4 times a day for a short period of time each time. Then about 3 days into it my back was feeling better, seemed more aligned and I started increasing the inversion angle. Since then I have increased the inversion angle and the amount of time for the inversion 5-10 minutes and have had some of the most unbelievable "pops" in my vertebrae starting at about the middle of my back or higher all the way down to below my waist. My back feels sooo much better, I truly can't explain it other than my suggestion, if you are wondering about this product, buy it don't wait. :)

The re-injury was so painful that I was unable to control pain with pain ...
I never write product reviews, but in this case I want to help provide some insight for someone who may be on the fence about purchasing. In 2012, I had a herniated disc at L5-S1 that was hitting my nerve. I used pain killers for about 21 days, until I had a shot, which allowed me to be pain free until I reinjured myself on June 1, 2018 doing jiu-jitsu. The re-injury was so painful that I was unable to control pain with pain killers. The pain killers only got me to a point where I was barely functional, whereas in 2012, I was nearly fully functional on pain killers. I panicked because I was told it would take a month for me to be able to see any of the local back / spine doctors, and to make matters worse, my insurance company was being difficult about approving my MRI. I was researching stretches online and started reading about inversion tables, which lead me to Amazon. I tend to research something quite a bit before getting into it, and I really wanted to make sure there was some sort of science behind inverting. I did find that online, but in addition, it also seems fairly logical to me, a non-medical professional, that simply going upside down can get pressure off of your spine. I ordered this table and began using it immediately. The first few days, the pain was so severe that I am convinced that I had a disc injury and some other injury, which was aggravated by the table. I used the table for a few days, inverting to about 45 degrees for 1-2 mins, and then took a few days off because of the pain. At about 6 days out, I started using it again, and within a few days after that, my back got to about 80% pain relief and I totally was able to stop taking any pain killers. At a month out, I am over 90%. The only remaining symptom is a bit of tingling / weakness. I’ve now tried to place a lot of focus on proper hydration, and I’ve been inverting twice daily. The inversion is no longer painful, I go a little over 45 degrees and stay on until I am bored. The session when I wake up is always wild – I flex my upper back, around my lats, which frees up my lower back around L5-S1. I then move my hips in a rotating motion, kinda side to side, and I get a ton of cracking and then everything feels super loose. There are also handles on the side of the table that can help you do a more intense version of this, which I will eventually use, but I can’t because I also broke my ribs, so I can’t comment on how useful they are.A note about the quality of the product – it seems super high quality. There are a lot of products that you can feel the quality in the moment you touch it and this is one of them. People who have never had a disc injury before don’t understand how painful they are, and spending $300 to get a quality product that you’re going to use daily for life isn’t a huge investment considering getting a shot or surgery is going to cause you WAY more out of pocket expense, even with insurance.

Would never purchase without Prime free return shipping
Likes: seems sturdy and fairly easy to use for me (I am 6'5" muscles, for my Mom who is 5'4", not so easy) and setup/build was easy too (I have been in construction most of my life so, I have been building and asembling things for 30 odd years. May not be so straight forward or easy for average Joe/Joan) If you can build Ikea furniture, you should be able to build this thing.Dislikes:1) Packaging. I returnd the first one I ordered because of all the damage in shipping. This one has some of the same damage (see photo) that the first one had, and that I have seen on more than one review. Also, the whole thing is a bit lopsided. Can't tell of this is the bed or the suplort frame or both, and whether or nnot this was damaged in shipping or a welding manufacturing flaw.2) Function/Usability. I am 6'5" and my Mom is 5'4". While the height adjustment for the ankle clamps is fairly easy, the problem is with the 'Roller hinges'. There are three holes on the hinges and you choose which hole (position of hinge) based on height and weight of user. Mom needs position A, and I need position C. Unfortunately there is no way to change this without mostly dismantling the machine which is, at best, inconvenient, and not something Mom can do on her own. Also, any position short of full inversion (hanging free) puts a lot of pressure on the lower back, even with the lumbar support, and since lower back pain is what most people will be purchasing this for, I think that is a serious issue. There is one other issue. When I right myself from an inverted position, my back often screams at me, regardless of how careful I am. Not sure if this is a symtom of my back problem, or a problem with inversion in general.Summary: It's a well built machine but, it could stand some design improvments, and the poor/insufficient packaging really needs to be addressed by the company. Be warned, it may not help your back so, unless you can purchase through amazon Prime with free return shipping, I would look elsewhere for relief from your back pain.

2 Week Review + 3 Month Review + 18 Month Review
I started with a back strain that was over a month old and kept reoccurring, sciatica that was beginning to become a regular issue and an overall bad mood from constantly being on painkillers. 2 weeks on and I have no back strain, no sciatica and no painkillers. The back strain was gone in 3 days, the sciatica in around a week and the painkillers were gone a few days later. If you can afford it get the lumbar bridge, you won’t regret it.I’ve used the table at no more than a 45 degree angle so far as my back has been dodgy my whole life, I don’t want to over stress it. 45 degrees was more than enough, some days I just laid flat on the lumbar bridge, such a good feeling to be able to just separate the spine for 5-10mins.In all honesty I use it so little I kind of feel like I’ve paid a lot of money for a one wear prom dress but I have to remind myself that if and when I hurt my back, this thing will be amazing, again. I’ll continue to use it to lay and relax on, it’s reeeeaaaallllyyyy nice.3 Month Review:Just WOW! I'm a physically different person now, seriously! I've tweaked my back a couple of time in the last 3 months and both times during the week, when I literally have time for 5 minutes on it before bed. On both occasions what would have been at least two weeks of pain turned into 1 day of pain until I got home and another of a little soreness. After that my back was like nothing had happened. This thing will be with me for the rest of my life.18 Month Review:I haven’t HAD to use it for over a year now. I have used it but to relax, and shut the missus up about it lying around not being used. I’ll toss her before I toss this lmao...For what it’s worth, I actually had a herniated disk in my lower back. Not anymore.

Do not bother with the "Acupressure set"
The table has a disconcerting slippage and catch each time at mid point, which make the rocking action (shown in a video, and actually fun) less so. The "acupressure set" comes with no instructions (I looked forward to a chart) but it really just a gimmick and waste of plastic, because due to the wide center plate attaching the seat to the stand, the balls cannot being attached to any area which is actually in contact with the body, unless possibly one is very, very broad and fat. I'm 5'8/170# and the metal plate extends the width of my back, so balls could only be placed outside that area, where my back will not touch.

Disappointed
With all the hype and marketing you would think this one is miles ahead of the competition. Well I tried cheaper ones and figured "if the cheaper ones are ok, maybe the more expensive one's claims are true and not just empty boasting". In my opinion, this one is no better, and in a few ways inferior to cheaper models I have used. One positive thing I did like about it is how far back it goes allowing you to completely free hang if you want (which I did not notice if the other models from other companies did), but this thing is super awkward to set to the correct height, then you have to set it to an inch more or an inch less than your actual height (so if you are 6' even, you need to set the machine to 5'11'' or something like that. why not make the height, the actual height?). And not only is it more awkward to set than other models, it has less room so your arms are always hitting these little metal bars unless you are careful, and even when it is set right (I think, I have watched the video and it hasn't made anything easier) it is still difficult to get it to move where you want it. For example, if you are inclined and want to go back upright you have to sort of strain and climb out of the position you are in.I was so disappointed with it that after reading the positive reviews, I was sure there is probably a good percentage of them who gave it a good review out of embarrassment; not wanting to admit they spent That Much Money on something that isn't worth it.Bottom line. Save your money and go for the amazon one for about 100$, or the iron something one (its grey and about 300$ and better than this one by far).I would give it 2.5 stars. Passable, but not worth the money by a long shot.

So far so good....
I bought the teeter inversion table as a gift for my mom, here is her review:I am a 48 year old woman, who is/was in good physical condition. I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) of the L5-S1. I as also have a herniated disc at L3- L4 and Sacro-iliac pain. I have suffered tremendous pain for over 15 years. The last 2yrs have been horrendous however. I was instructed by my doctors to stopped jogging, skiing and almost all sports and activities necessitating bending or twisting of the spine. Pain is so difficult to describe as it is as unique as each one of us. For me my pain Is there as soon as my lower back muscles are in a resting or laying down position. It’s like my vertebrae stiffens up and getting up without support is simply impossible. I must NOT put any weight on my spine or surrounding muscles after they have relaxed. Pulling myself in the standing position is so painful and so scary, I feel like I am going to paralyse if I attempt it. It truly feels like someone has stabbed me in my lower spine. Turning in my sleep during the night is just excruciating. In order to get dressed In the morning, I stack my clothes next to me on my night table the night before, and I get dressed in the AM while laying on my back, legs up with my feet in the air. I don’t drink anything past 17:00 for fear of having to get up to pee in the middle of the night. God forbid should I sneeze or cough. Thank goodness, the pain does subside after about 15 minutes of moving about s l o w l y ... Then, once the DDD pain dissipates, I am left with the Sacro-iliac pain, that is constant 24/7. I have tried numerous attempts at fixing and relieving the pain. (Doctors, Anti-inflamation meds, osteopath, chiropractor, acupuncture, physiotherpay, therapeutic massages), to no avail. Acupuncture helped the most, but it doesn’t fix the issue, just helps me manage the pain. Then came the teeter.... My son got me this odd looking thing for Christmas. My husband put it together in about 40 minutes (easy peasy if you follow the instructions, WATCH THE DVD PEOPLE!!!). He adjusted the inversion table to my height and weight and I started hanging upside down at the 40% incline right away. From the get go I felt surprised at the relief I felt. I feel more mobile after a 3 minute session. I have been using it for two weeks now. Much to my surprise, my sacro-iliac pain seems to be gone 90% of the time. I am afraid to say that out loud, lol...My DDD pain is alright. It feels different, but I don’t want to comment as of yet as it is too soon to write about. I guess when I get to 90 degree incline, I will update my comments. I am taking it slowly as my condition is severe. All in all I see the benefits of this machine. It re-energizes me some. My physiotherapists agrees if I feel better to keep using it.Storage: it stores well. I fold it up after each use (lack of space ). I wobble it back against a wall. I am a small person and have no issues opening and closing it.Because of my specific condition, after hanging like a bat for 5 minutes, getting back into the standing position has to be done in steps. Standing upright would put the weight of my body on my back vertebrae’s and I simply cannot do that. So, I stay in the in level position or 0 degree position for a minute and then stand back up with legs slightly bent for another few minutes. The hardest part for me, is getting the feet clasp undone. It’s simply too much bending and I cannot do on my own. So I ask the hubby to standby in order to help me out of the contraption. I really recommend this inversion table. I am certain I am just scratching the surface at this point. For once, I feel like there is possibly a light at the end of my dark tunnel. Thanks Mr Teeter for this invention.

Awesome results, quick and easy assembly.
Only had it for a day but my back feels better already.I Had to mention because I seen a lot of reviews that said the assembly took longer than the 15-20 minutes they suggest. Because of that kept track of my time. Here was my experience.Step 1. Opened the box unpacked all the materials and removed all packaging. (about 5 Minutes)Step 2. Took some time and removed all the packaging and had a clean work area, (about 5 Minutes)Step 3. Scanned through the DVD. I literally fast forwarded through most of the DVD hitting play occasionally at what seemed essential parts (about 5 minutes. if you watched the whole thing it would probably take about 15 minutes.)Step 4. Assembled the table. (about 5 Minutes) Really, the actual assembly took about 5 minutes. a) There are 6 screws 3 for each stretch bar and 2 more already threaded you have to tighten. b) You attach the two adjustable "pivot arms" I will call them which is just a clamp you flip to one side. c) You place the table on to the frame. It just slides in to two slots and locks in automatically. d) Then you attach the "foot bar" I will call it. Which just slides up a tube on the table and locks by a pin. e) Velcro the head rest on the table and your DONE.It was that easy, I have no idea what those other people were talking about when they say that it could not be put together in 15-20 minutes. Well they were right in a way.... it only took 5.I took another 5 minutes to adjust and balance it properly for my height and weight. Easy to adjust and covered in the DVD.
